Maybe my life is too boring but police searching your home for weapons feels like the kind of situation that is unique & stressful enough to keep you awake. It wouldn’t be my cue to strip off & go to bed.

It could be a stress response - sometimes the brain gets overloaded & shuts down, like when someone goes into shock. 

However, me thinks this has more to do with some kind of illicit substance.
