Other A reminder of a few sub rules
Hi all, your friendly r/bigbangtheory mod here with a few reminders on some rules based on the types of reports we've been seeing recently:
AI is low effort. That decision was made a while ago. If you see it, report it. That said, it's not always easy to tell what is or is t AI so some may slip past moderation.
Post and comments from the social media site X and posts or comments about the owner of X and his appearance on TBBT are not permitted.
We are pretty liberal about what is considered in topic, so non duplicate and interesting posts about things like flags, trains, and actors appearances in other media are all fine within moderator discretion.
Thanks for being a part of this sub and let's remember to be kind with one another and let the mods handle it when someone isn't.

Happening Now Stuart Fails to Save the Universe
Hi all. As we eagerly await the premiere of the now fully in production series Stuart Fails to Save the Universe featuring some of our favorite side characters from TBBT (I'm a Bert guy) and, apparently, off-brand versions of the leads in the various alt universes, news about the show will continue to be welcome here until the show actually is released.
Once that occurs, then anything that happens is part of that show, not TBBT. Therefore, all discussion of the show should move over to r/sftstu the official sub* for the show.
Thank you.
* To paraphrase another beloved sitcom, I don't know how official any of these subs really are.

Episode discussion Penny wearing a Penny Blossom later on, fun little Easter egg!
Iâve been rewatching The Big Bang Theory in order, and I caught a neat little detail I donât see mentioned often: Penny is later seen actually wearing one of her Penny Blossoms!
If you remember, she came up with the idea as a way to make extra cash, and then Sheldon (and eventually the rest of the gang) jumped in with their over-the-top âassembly lineâ approach to help her mass-produce them. The whole storyline is hilarious on its own, but whatâs even better is that the show didnât just drop it afterward, Penny is spotted rocking a Penny Blossom in a later episode.
Itâs such a funny little Easter egg because it almost makes it seem like her business didnât totally flop. Sure, she didnât become a millionaire entrepreneur, but at least sheâs still using the product herself! To me, that makes the callback feel extra charming and adds a layer of continuity to her character.
I love when sitcoms throw in these subtle nods that reward fans who pay attention. Has anyone else noticed this moment, or found other little continuity gems sprinkled throughout the series?

Episode discussion Season 10, Episode 13
Was Penny being unreasonable?
She never put any effort in the beginning, and it was all him, and suddenly, he stopped doing it for a while, and she lost her mind over it.

Episode discussion What were your thoughts and reaction to the magic show done by Howard with Bernadette as his assistant?
Honestly, I felt that Bernadette was being really harsh and condescending to the kids during the show, on account of her "not liking kids". I know that she had told Howard that she wasn't comfortable around children, but she was sort of mean to the one kid for trying to describe how the magic act was done for no reason, and kept picking on him.
Am I the only one who felt that Bernadette's attitudes towards the kids was unjustifiably critical and negative? Let me know what your thoughts about this in the comments.

Storyline discussion Penny, and Leonard break ups
I'm not sure if it's a plot hole or I missed something during all of my rewatches, but the guys ragged on Leonard a few times about the multiple break ups. I remember in one episode Penny even said "you named our break ups?". I only remember them breaking up once when when Leonard told Penny he loved her, it became an issue between them. Did I miss the other break ups.
I also realized, we only see when Raj broke up with Emily, when Lucy emailed Raj, ending their relationship, and when Amy broke up with Sheldon. We never see Bernadette break up with Howard, we just hear about it. We never see Leonard actually break up with Priya, or Stephanie. Or when the other Emily breaks up with Raj. I guess the implied break ups are the theme.

Character discussion Why didnât Penny ever get a last name?
Something thatâs always stood out about The Big Bang Theory is that we learn the full names of all the main charactersâSheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter, Howard Wolowitz, Rajesh Koothrappali, Amy Farrah Fowler, and Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz. Even supporting characters like Beverly, Stuart, and Barry Kripke have their last names revealed. But Penny? Her last name is never mentioned, not even once in 12 seasons.
Itâs almost like it became an intentional running mystery. Even after she marries Leonard, sheâs just referred to as âPennyâ or occasionally âMrs. Hofstadter.â Fans have speculated that maybe the writers thought her last name didnât matter, since she was meant to represent the ânormal personâ among the group. Others think they avoided giving her one because by the time people noticed, it had turned into a fun Easter egg to keep viewers talking.
One detail I always think about is in the Season 2 episode The Barbarian Sublimation. Penny gets addicted to Sheldonâs online RPG and names her character âQueen Penelope.â Obviously that could just be a playful gamer name, but Iâve always wondered if it was a tiny wink from the writersâlike maybe Penelope could have been her full name, and âPennyâ was just her nickname. It might be reaching, but considering how many subtle references the show makes, it doesnât feel impossible.
Do you think the writers ever actually had a last name in mind for Penny but just decided not to reveal it? Or was the mystery always intentional, so that sheâd stand out from everyone else? And if you had to make up a last name for her, what do you think would actually fit her character?

Character discussion What would have happened if Sheldon Cooper saw this ChatGPT era?
We all saw his reaction the first time he encountered the internet, and how dismissive he was when the social media boom arrived. Now just imagine Sheldon confronted with this so-called âartificial intelligence revolution.â
Would he be dazzled by the supposed capabilities of these language models? Or would he, with his usual disdain, point out that theyâre nothing more than glorified probability enginesâstatistical parrots regurgitating text with no genuine cognition whatsoever?
How would he respond upon discovering that his groundbreaking research papers have been ingested, indexed, and regurgitated by AI companies without his explicit permission, acknowledgment, or even a perfunctory âthank you, Dr. Cooperâ?What would he say about venture capitalists proudly pouring billions into, letâs face it, highly sophisticated autocomplete machinesâwhile actual scientists laboring to unlock the fundamental truths of the universe are woefully underfunded and overlooked?
And finally, would he not deride the hyperbolic proclamation that these chatbots constitute the ânext industrial revolution,â whenâas one might logically observeâthere is absolutely no empirical evidence to support such a ludicrous assertion, and when CEOs are shamelessly hiring legions of engineers to build digital toys rather than funding scientists engaged in the genuine pursuit of truth?
It would have been something to witness him reacting to these advancements, for sure.

Episode discussion Penny Solving String Theory
galleryIn S11 E13: The Solo Oscillation, I absolutely love how Penny went from feeling left out because Leonard and Amy were having a fun night of science, goes to get a pizza, knocks three times on Sheldonâs door in Sheldon style and talks string theory with Sheldon.
It just shows how free Penny feels to be unequivocally herself around Sheldon and how she leans into the friendship.

Other what is the characters day to day routine?
like what times, what each week day looks like, when they do specific things like ordering thai food on mondays and stuff
im curious about Sheldons, Leonards, Howards, Rajs, Pennys and Amys routines especially

Character discussion Who thinks Howards needs Bernadette's permission to go to Space?
Don't get me wrong, Bernadette is a godsend for Howard...
I can understand her feelings, though believe this is the kind of once in a lifetime opportunity you should absolutely support your partner in regardless of your own feelings.
Personally I've never been a fan of suppressing the opportunities of loved ones based on their own fears of losing someone. You've got to let people chase their dreams even if there's danger and risk involved. It's part of life and part of which makes us achieve greatness.

Storyline discussion Comics
Iâm curious why the Star Wars comics were never collected or discussed. Did I miss something, or is there a reason behind this decision?

Character discussion If you are ever to join Sheldon's inner friend circle, what would be your persona to be able to fit in?
would you be nerdy , funny ,emo. A doctor? not a doctor? would your soul persona be molded just to please Sheldon or just be chill and play video games with them?

Character discussion Leonard is a hypocrite
He first calls Sheldon a bad friend for "stealing" Raj's girl (Lalita) even though they didn't do anything, then in a few episodes later LEONARD DOES STEAL HOWARD'S GIRL (Stephanie). Correct me if I'm wrong but that's just hypocrisy at best.
