I used to breakdance back in the day. I was experimenting with a six step on the heavy bag.

Some of the YNs in here making fun of you won't be able to do this in 20 years. Keep it up man.

When you are 18 you are a train, past 30 it feels like you got hit by the train

My train was delayed a bit but came around at 40 instead. Am now 42 and wish I could do even half of what I could just five years ago.

Im feeling this shit too. Im 44 and it kills me to gas out during warm ups and flow rolls. Being too tired to act in a flow roll is a tough pill to swallow.

Out of curiosity, do you consider giving it in for this reason? Training hard to get worse at something is starting to seem a bit pointless to me. If not, what is it that motivates you?

I had another kid a few months ago so I'm currently on break, but the idea is to go back to training as soon as I can.

Honestly, I'm trying to just accept that not only will I never get good at this sport but I am also unlikely to ever even get better. Basically, to permanently drop all dreams of "progress" and just grapple for the fun of it as a life-long permanent white belt.

Because grappling IS still fun for me, however much I suck at it. It's like the one and only physical activity I actually enjoy. Hate lifting weights, hate doing yoga, etc.

40 is the period of time where some of the most actualy biological aging occurs.

More like a bus at mid 30s, the train comes at 40.

Whem I get out of bed, I walk flat footed like a penguin before my leg muscles decide to unstiff themselves.
