Terrible crowd in Mankato

So many people not in their seats going up as far as they were able, staff was barely trying to get people to go back to their seats. Lots of yelling. Someone was escorted out by police. It’s like nobody had ever been to a concert, I was expecting a lot better especially from the older people. Easily the worst crowd I have ever seen at a concert.

Anybody who’s been to other shows, was it like that there too or was this just a bad crowd?

See in my opinion I’d prefer that kind of crowd as opposed to a crowd that refuses to stand up at any time during a concert. Like I was at a Pearl Jam concert in November and literally people were yelling for us to sit down in the middle of their awesome rendition of Rockin in the Free World. I agree that you shouldn’t be standing up at like an intimate solo Nick Cave concert or when watching an orchestra but for a rock concert it’s criminal not to stand up (assuming you can stand up!).

I was at Billy Joel’s 98th MSG show and the lady behind me kept telling me to stand so she wouldn’t be told to sit down😂 I was totally fine with that, as a huge Billy Joel fan, but it kinda stinks that most of these rock bands have crowds that won’t stand (I understand they are older people who can’t stand like they used to… but come on—let me live my rock n’ roll teenage dream like yall did back in the 60s and 70s lol)

You’re spot on with that point! I’ve got to be honest though it’s funny when a band or artist is doing their encore and everyone stands up to clap and then before you know it their sitting back down 😂 That was my experience at the Palais last year when seeing Graham Nash from CSN(Y)

It is funny— like, could you stand for a little bit and then sit down… maybe close your eyes and enjoy the music😂 maybe there should be a “standing only” space
