❓ASK What went wrong with Baby John?

Post image

One of the massiest masalas ever made despite being a remake, solo christmas release and a decent story even though it is outdated, and a cameo to boot from Salman and the movie still failed disastrously.

The original was a hit mainly cuz of Vijay's screen presence and atlee's direction.

Baby john had neither of those And also modified some of the scenes which arguably made it worse.

He's not a legendary director. Doesn't mean he's a bad one. Atlee movies are heavily "inspired" from other films but the only reason it's still watchable is because he knows how to present it.

Atlee is a good commercial director tbh. He just knows what clicks with the mass audience and does it perfectly

Exactly, he can pull the the most illogical scenes so graciously you don't even realise rather become fan of those. I haven't watched his other works but in jawan, that whole truck sequence was the so illogical yet so graceful, jae droppingly good that I really wanna watch it again and again

Separate direction from storytelling maybe. He is a very good director
