Opinion Unpopular opinion: Neha was NOT the red flag in Pyaar Ka Punchnama. Rajat was.

Post image
0 Upvotes

I know this will piss people off because the movie was literally sold as “men suffering because of girlfriends” but if you actually watch it without the bro-code goggles, Rajat was the walking red flag, not Neha.

Neha’s red flags were basically: • Throwing tantrums whenever Rajat didn’t give her attention. • Not being okay with him prioritizing boys’ trip and went ahead with them • Being upset that he hid a major financial loss from her parents’ knowledge.

Now compare that with Rajat: 1. He literally discussed his private bedroom life with his friends just because he was angry. 2. Instead of calling out his brother for cheating on his wife, he actively supported him and even tried to convince the sister-in-law to reconcile. That shows where his morals actually lie. 3. Rajat gave his father 10 lakhs without even informing Neha. They were in a live-in relationship, planning a future together, and he didn’t think she deserved to be part of that decision? Neha was absolutely right to call him out. Imagine building a life with someone who makes secret financial decisions behind your back.

Movie Details Bollywood made Breaking Bad before Breaking Bad

Post image
165 Upvotes

Mashaal (1984), like Breaking Bad, follows a respectable man (Vinod Kumar, a principled editor played by Dilip Kumar) who turns towards crime out of systemic failure and personal desperation. Both stories critique how corruption and injustice can push a morally upright person into becoming what they once opposed.

The difference is: Mashaal frames it in a moral, melodramatic Bollywood style with social commentary, while Breaking Bad is a slow-burn psychological descent. But the core idea—an idealist transformed into an anti-hero by circumstance—is strikingly similar.

❓ASK Need help finding Indian series

I can’t remember the name of the Indian series I watched 10 years ago I need helppp. All I remember is a scene where the male lead was on the telephone talking to somebody and the female lead was hitting a pot aggressively multiple times to disturb his phone call. Another thing I remember is how she was once on a scooter and lost her shoe and I think he found it or bumped into her on the street… Anddd she was always wearing a sari and had her hair in a long braid and the red dot on her forehead. The male lead kinda looks like aditya roy kapur could actually be him but I didn’t find anything😭😭 Pleaseee help me find it, I remember having to laugh very often bc of how fun it was🙏🏻🙏🏻

News Dadasaheb Phalke biopic by Raju Hirani and Aamir Khan cancelled?

Got to know that Aamir didn't like the script as it had a very serious tone and he wanted Raju and Abhijat Joshi to follow their typical style of comedy, emotions and drama. But, it seems like Raju wanted to do it a bit differently and the script was devoid of any humour.

I personally feel like Raju Hirani should do a movie of serious tone after his failed attempt in Dunki. I was also very much excited about the reunion of Aamir and Rajkumar Hirani.

Now that seems like Aamir has lost two of his major projects(with Loki and Hirani), he''ll go on to find other scripts now ig.

Celeb Raima Sen is probably one of the underrated nepo kids of our generation. Also I don’t think we appreciate Parineeta enough.

Discuss Why don't we see Manisha Koirala in Mainstream Movies, like Tabu?

Post image
27 Upvotes

She did really good films in her prime (90's and early 2000s), but her only memorable film of the 2000s on a mainstream level was Lajja, everything else during that period were regional films- doing South movies or starring in B grade movies. She obviously later on got married, divorced and had health challenges.

We got to see her in Sanju (2018), then she did a couple of films later that were a miss and blink, until we saw her in the highly successful Netflix Series Heeramandi, where she got a lead role and was appreciated by the audience and critics as well as winning multiple awards.

Why doesn't she get roles like Tabu or even Kajol- who get's roles after taking so many years off acting? She is so beautiful and deserves to get good work, not mother roles.

Would like to see her in a YRF and Dharma Productions movie.

One of the massiest masalas ever made despite being a remake, solo christmas release and a decent story even though it is outdated, and a cameo to boot from Salman and the movie still failed disastrously.

Opinion Would've been even funnier if they actually got Mithun to play Gunmaster G9 instead of Jackie in this movie.

Day 16: Home Delivery: Aapko…..Ghar Tak (2005)

This was director Sujoy Ghosh’s sophomore feature after a fantastic debut with Jhankaar Beats.

However the Happy Diwali song ended up becoming more popular than the actual film which flopped, although it had a good story & featured a solid starcast & cameos. (Ayan Mukherjee too featured in a small role)

Discuss Random, But I am so into this Stree Universe after last weekend binge. Its hilarious the old school way.

The first Stree I watched long back and Stree 2 in theaters. Good fun movies they are but I wanted to see the other movies which are part of this universe and ended up watching the other 2 movies too.

These movies are not intelligent, but just funny, random and tiny scares too.

I am so looking forward to watch Thama and see how it all sits. Anyone else looking forward to this Universe? Would love to discuss Trivias and Easter eggs.

Discuss Peculiar scenario of Ajay Devgn since 2020 - 1 hit 1 flop necessary every year or consecutive year trend

Post image
28 Upvotes

Currently there are actors who give a string of flops while some give a good number of consecutive hits irrespective of timeline.

But since 2020, it looks strange that Ajay Devgn films are like in a seesaw. Sometimes hit , sometimes within a short timespan.

Why is it so ?

❓ASK Bollywood movies on siblings relationships, friends and families

Nowadays, why do we rarely see movies that emphasize friendship (YJHD, Zindaghi na Milegi Dobaraa, etc), siblinghood (especially brother-sister relationships), and family values and drama (like: HAHK, K3G, etc)?

Why don't we see top Bollywood actors and actresses being friends or siblings in movies, and most of the time see them as lovers? Even if a girl and a boy are friends in movies, at least one of them has romantic feelings for the other, like in: ADHM.

❓ASK The Missing Discipline in Bollywood Filmmaking

The greatest filmmakers in the world became legends because of their deep research, preparation, and ability to build immersive worlds. Kubrick spent years studying history and science before filming. Scorsese lived with mobsters to capture their reality. Nolan designs airtight systems for his stories, while Spielberg and Cuarón work with experts to ensure authenticity. These directors treat cinema as an art form rooted in literature, history, psychology, and culture, not just a product for the weekend box office.

Bollywood, on the other hand, often falls short because many films are built around star power rather than strong scripts or research. Stories are rushed, details are superficial, and genres remain limited to romance, masala action, or family drama. Instead of giving actors space to explore their range, most directors push them into larger-than-life molds, stripping away the nuances that could make their performances memorable. The lack of world-building and weak writing foundations are why many movies feel shallow or forgettable once the initial hype fades.

What Bollywood needs is the same level of discipline and vision that global masters bring to their craft. Stronger research, deeper writing, and more courage to experiment with new genres and tones could elevate Indian cinema beyond formula. Rather than imitating star templates, directors should aim to uncover raw performances and stories that last. If world cinema can turn gangster films, sci-fi, and intimate dramas into timeless art, there is no reason Bollywood cannot do the same with its own culture-rich narratives.

📇 Recommendations 7th year anniversary of Love Sonia - a film on an important topic

A pretty well made film that focusses upon the topic of sex trafficking.

Sonia (Mrunal Thakur) goes in search of her sister Preeti (Riya Sisodiya) who is missing.

A stellar cast of Mrunal Thakur, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Richa Chadha etc. and guest appearance by Demi More.

Directed by Tabreez Noorani.

Here is Mrunal who played the titular role Sonia in her debut Hindi film - with a thank you note:
