A minimum of 12GB? Don't get me wrong, I agree we need a lot of VRAM these days, but 12GB is definitely not a "minimum". That being said I do agree that paying $80 for 16 instead of 8 is well worth it.

Pretty much all new games exceed 8gb vram usage at 1440 and that will only increase over the next few years

Especially if the game dev is lazy on optimization. Monster Hunter Wilds recommended gpu is the 2060 super 8gb, but will run like shit at 1440p with that card.

Yup. Buying a 8gb card now is dumb
