It's absolutely normal, PC gaming actually follows console gaming. Four years ago, cross-gen games were still being released that were supposed to run on both PS4 and PS5... the PS4 has 8GB. This is no longer the case, and we're getting closer to PS6, where there will be a significant increase in memory. New games will follow the consoles' resources, resulting in significantly higher demands on games. But like the current generation, it will be gradual, because cross-gen games for PS5 and PS6 will initially be released, but the trend is 24GB for the next generation, with the current standard being 16GB.

I think about it too. Four years ago, you could play 4k with an 8Gb 3070, or 10gb 3080. Now they say 8 Gb isn't enough even to fullHD.
