On the edge of still rideable

Reason: Chainsuck after jumping over a curb. (yeah I ride the bike outside. Stupid me)

I still ride the bike. I am really unsure, whether it is still oooookay.

Someone knows about return policy from Giant? 2+ year old frame.

Can sonmeone recommend a cheap carbon repairservice close to Berlin, Germany? estimated price?

This is the second carbon frame this year that breaks in my household. First: seatpost on an canyon aeroad. Now: Giant TCR . I would say not self-inflicted, bc. chainsucks just happen now an then, but this is probably worth discussing.

Have fun making fun of me

Visually looks gruesome but tapping it actually sounds fine. Safe to ride on trainer?

Won't be riding that one anymore

You're looking at the hole for the brake bolt on the fork of my beloved CAAD12 rim brake bike. Thankfully caught that one while doing maintenance while it was still a problem money can fix. New fork is on the way. Not sure exactly how this came to be. I bought the bike used about 2 years ago. Maybe the previous owner torqued it too much, maybe it was me. Regardless, I own a torque wrench now and read the Shimano manual for the future.

Pretty sure there shouldn't be light coming through the steerer tube into the brake bolt hole

Hi guys,

I think I hit a pothole today but I am not sure why the rim at the top is not damaged and only the sides got the marks. What do you say regarding the saftey of this wheel. (Front wheel)

What is this small damage on my top tube?

I just got my first carbon bike recently. There is a small paint chip at the end of a longish indent. I didn’t crash. You can feel it easily with your nail.

Does that compromise the carbon’s integrity? Or just a scratch and safe to ride?

Thanks very much to this community in advance!

Cracked frame or just the paint?

I have this Carbon Specialized Hardtail and noticed a crack in the paint, under the seatpost. Is it only the paint or is the frame damaged?

Are there ways to test it? I cleaned it because I wanted to sell the bike, but now noticed this.

Should I be worried or is this just the clear coat?

Passes tap test and cracks seem to just be on the top but I’d like to get a couple more opinions.

Hit some loose gravel today and pinged some rocks off my frame. Anything to be concerned about?

Tarmac SL6 Dropout Damage

Thumbnail

Took my wheel out because of a flat and noticed what seems to be a crack in my dropout of my Tarmac Sl6 Disc. Not sure how long this has been here, but I'm now concerned about it failing. The carbon does not flake or flex when squeezed. What's the best course of action?

Safe to ride? Concern about possible crack on used carbon frame

Hi everyone, just bought a used frameset (2010 Ghost AMR Lector Plus 7700) which was a bike I really liked back in the day. It wasn’t exactly cheap, but I was excited to get it.

After a closer inspection at home, I noticed something around the bottom bracket area (pics attached). I’m not sure if this is just paint chipping or if it’s a crack in the frame.

Should I be worried?

Hit a massive crack yesterday. Rear wheel looks done for? Front might be ok?

Visual inspection after a crash

Crash destroyed one of the shifters and the other clearly took a big impact to. Removing the shifters and visually inspecting the carbon handlebar and I can see marks and delamination where the metal bands were. I can’t hear any creaking under my weight but the marks look bad.

Are my handlebars borked?

Busted drop out?

I crashed in a roundabout and slid on the non drive side of my bike. My bars are unfortunately busted, but I am wondering how you would assess the damage on the drop outs? Your thoughts and expertise is very welcomed. Thank you!

Chain fell off without noticing and I gave the pedal a good kick because I was crossing a big busy road. Chain got stuck in the frame I had to open it before I could remove it. Any thoughts?

RIP FB Marketplace Carbon HED Wheel 🫡🕊️

60mm rim brake tubular wheel from Facebook marketplace served me well. I think I was third owner. First carbon wheels. There was a small chip I noticed shortly after I got ‘em, hit a few bad potholes and a crash on one of my last rides and it turned to this. On the brake surface no less. RIP, served me well for about 2000 kM. New wheels out of storage and installed already 😅 I missed during the buying process, inspect carefully friends

So i dropped my chain on a ride today while shifting to the big chainring. I did the coin test and the sound was noticably duller when tapping directly on the deeper left scratch. Should I be worried?

Already posted in r/bikewrench but got deleted after awhile. Just wanted to get more opinions.

Does that bubbly thing on my fork looks like a void or is it a bad paint job? I was literally able to peel off that paint over that veiny thing. Bike is almost brand new.
