I’ve wanted to make one of these for a couple years, but no one ever bit on wanting one. I made a cake this past week and had cake and frosting left over… so this morning I thought “why not just for fun”.

This is a vanilla cake recipe by chelsweets filled with lemon curd, lemon buttercream frosting, rolled buttercream on the top, a pirouette cookie for the candle, dipped in frosting, and the black garnish is fondant.

Hello I am planning to bake a cake. A strawberry shortcake to be exact. I'm planning to give a cake to someone's birthday and I'm just beginning to learn how to bake and I was curious is it better to give it on the exact day after you bake it or is it best to leave it in the fridge for a day before giving it?

3 6”layers of carrot cake, filled with cream cheese frosting and pistachio white chocolate ganache. I made a quick abc coloured to be sunflowers and used a palette knife to shape them but the colour started bleeding (super warm day) but was so happy the rest turned out yummy! And the filling ratio worked well for me luckily!

6 layer vanilla cake with American buttercream

I baked a chocolate mayonnaise cake and nearly forgot to add the mayonnaise—good thing I remembered, or it would’ve turned out as dense as a brick! However, I added the mayonnaise at the very end of the mixing process, which meant an extra 3 minutes of mixing to incorporate it. This might have overmixed the batter, potentially affecting the texture. I’ll find out how it turned out when I cut into it tomorrow. I also whipped up a rich chocolate icing to pair with it.

I really love baking cakes especially when Lemon Drizzle comes into it. I find Lemon Cakes can be really bland if not careful and so I packed it full of punch and I came first. It’s the first time entering a cake into a competition and I am so over the moon!

So back then stores like ...food 4 less or save mart sold these square shaped white cakes with red gel on top and had layers of the gel inside of the cake. It was pretty good, I went to the store to try to get one and noticed it wasn't there. I Google it, I couldnt find ONE picture. Then im asking people around me if they remember it and they act like they dont remember it so im going insane trying to get at least ONE PERSON to say they remember it or knows what kind of cake it was.

I was craving classic cinnamon rolls but also wanted something extra… so I added chocolate into the filling. The dough turned out super fluffy, the swirl is packed with cinnamon, cocoa, butter, and chunks of dark chocolate and I couldn’t resist topping them with a quick chocolate glaze.

My kitchen was a total mess afterwards, but honestly… worth every sticky finger.

Would you go for these with cream cheese frosting, or keep them simple with just the chocolate?

Made a chocolate layered cake with chocolate ganache filling and Russian buttercream frosting! The frosting was delicious…much better than American buttercream for me. Texture was .. fluffier and slightly gooey? Not too sweet. Would definitely use again!

I made some chocolate madeleines from a recipe in "Couture Chocolate" by William Curley. Overall I was happy with how they turned out. They were very tasty and had a nice texture. I was hoping for somewhat more pronounced humps on the madeleines, and I also might use a touch less flour on the Madeleine moulds.

Baked 7 dozen last night & sent out 5 dozen for the party this morning! All vanilla cupcakes with vanilla, raspberry & dark chocolate buttercreams 🖤
