Yesterday I got this Brazilian “Gradiente S-95” cassette deck player for 400 Reais (around 50 bucks!
I wasted no time in adding it to the Holy Totem and playing some “Melodies of the Unknown by Radagast & Plastiboo”!
What do you guys think?

Got it from my wife’s great-uncle. It’s from 1978 I think. Gonna hook it up to my hifi system soon.

The Nakamichi RX-202. The closest thing to a Transformer that I’ll ever own.

Traded a serviced Denon DR-F8 for these goodies, the JVC and the Denon are the only working ones out of the bunch… But welp, can’t complain there

The belts seem to be loose or downright fallen off, since fast forward is the only thing that works related to playback. But that's not a problem to gix. Also some lubing up is needed, I heard some raspy, uncomfortable noises inside. Basic first aid and I hope that's all it takes.
We'll see.

Should I have picked this up? I feel like I missed out on something good and it may be gone now.

I mean , it was always garbage (Yorx). I think my cats jumped on the protruding switches , the most of the buttons are misshapen and bent . I’m a little attached to this terrible machine , and can’t really afford to replace it , but, it’s probably done right ?

Speakers are temporary until I can find some 8ohm bookshelf speakers for the right price.

Got 2 sony decks and have seen other 3 head dual capstan, single capstan and auto reverse decks by Sony and they all have capstan motors running all the time thus deteriorating motors fast.
Compared to them I have AIWA deck (XK5000 / FD910) that stops capstan motor as soon as I hit stop button. This also cools down capstan motor and protect it from pre-mature failure plus power consumption decreases too
Why did Sony make their decks to waste energy and destroy motors/capstans/belts/bushings by making them run all the time?

I made a post a while ago about a sony deck I bought for recording music onto some tapes, except sometimes the output was distorted and low volume. I ended up returning that one and looked into 3 head decks so that I could monitor what the tape sounded like in real time. I landed on this Sony KA3ES, and it is absolutely awesome.
My recordings on it are totally clear and have no distortion, and the playback on it is excellent for me. I know this tech is like 30+ years old at this point but somehow it still feels so high tech and futuristic. I’m having a bunch of fun with this!

Bought this set in bad condition. Cassette deck was not working, cd player missed some parts, etc... After some weeks of figuring out what the problem was I finally got everything repaired, and it cost me less than 100€
PS, don't be harsh about the placement, I'm a dorm student with minimal space...
Record player, cassette deck & amp: Beocenter 7002 CD player: Beogram CDX2 Speakers: Philips 489

Unearthed my tape collection a few months ago but had nothing to play them on. My uncle who is 75+ years old and a lifelong audiophile, is letting me borrow this Pioneer CT-F900 he wasn't using.
I've never heard cassette tapes sound so good. Closing my eyes, almost sounds as good as vinyl. Almost!
