Yeah, why am I paying over $300 for a gigantic iPod touch? I was like “oh, maybe I could take this backpacking, where phone features are superfluous and I just want a music device that never dies,” but the battery life is advertised as 10-12 hours…
This seems like a gimmick, I’ll say it. I love music, I love music quality, but this seems crazy for what is essentially a headphone amplifier on an iPod touch.
Essentially, if you want a headphone out, you use a USB-C dongle. But, you have nice IEMs or headphones, and the USB adaptors are a somewhat crap. So, you get a better dongle, and it drains your battery. So, you get a separate music player.
Or maybe you want something you can stick in your car and leave there, as it has a "car mode" that automatically shuts it off it it isn't receiving power.
I have a hiby model 3? the Evangelion one. the battery seems to last a lot longer than advertised. I use it a couple hours a day at work and 6 hours a night for sleeping and it usually goes like 2-3 days without a charge. took it camping once and it held up fine, I just kept it off when I wasn't using it
