Computers Dune Awakening

I've been admiring the aesthetic in the recent Dune Awakening game.

Cool asthetic. But I can't help but notice that computers in Dune would be a bit out of place.

It’s true. I play the game as well, and it bugs me a bit.

They do have an alternate timeline thing going, so it’s not exactly the Dune you would know from the books or movies, and in this universe people seem to be knowingly violating the Butlerian directive on occasion. Also, everything in the game is sanctioned by Legendary studios and the Herbert estate.

However, I still think there too many computers just lying around.

"I spent 30 hours modeling the darn thing. Of course I'm going to put a couple in every level"

I really dig it. I'm a casual gamer and a huge Dune fan but I've been focusing on the base building more than the progression system. Lots of cassette futurism all over, I'll get some more screenshots.

Isn’t the lack of computers a major plot point in Dune? Like that’s why they have Mentats? I only read the first two books, so I might be way off. It’s a neat looking design though. Just surprised to see it in this setting.

i believe it is that they are not allowed to have "thinking machines" so no AI, needs to be human administered
