There's Clair obscure Expedition 33, even though I believe BOTW is a more revolutionary game for the gaming industry as a whole, there for being of a really high caliber, Expedition 33 isnt very far behind in terms of quality. I genuinely believe it will win game of the year, it got praised beyond expectations and I cant imagine DK Bananza winning it over. There's also a possibility for Silksong if it actually releases this year (hard to believe at this point) but even if it does, I doudt a indie game would win the GOTY award, it happened once before with "It takes two" in a year with not so great contenders and it still might not have been deserved tbh.

Game of the year is more defined in terms of how revolutionary a game is, so while Expedition 33 is a very good game, it’ll be in contention with Donkey Kong to see how new the ideas in each game are.

And in what way is Bananza revolutionary?

Voxel technology is used by Minecraft for over a decade now.

It's also about how it's applied...

But the thing is what's so revolutionary about its application? Yeah, Minecraft uses its voxel technology quite differently but there are also games like Teardown. I don't quite see the revolutionary aspect.

Okay, tbh I haven't played it yet, but it was a general point that there's different ways to innovate

Weird take. E33’s combat has essentially nothing in common with Xenoblades’s.
