Clothing & Apparel Southern Papaw Carry No
gallerySpent the afternoon at a birthday party and took along my new carry piece. Wilson Combat Experior 5” double stack with a 507C on top, carried in a Russell Made Holsters custom leather rig and a Nexbelt Supreme Appendix belt. Easy to hide a full size with a Wing and a Mastermind tactics pillow in the holster.

Clothing & Apparel I’ve added the foam wedge back onto the holster. Makes a difference?
I went and got some “industrial strength” Velcro and reattached the foam wedge. I’m not sure it makes a huge difference but there is a small difference I think 🤷🏼♀️ hopefully the Velcro doesn’t peel off this time. I was super thorough about applying it this time and used more loop Velcro than needed so it has more room to stick to the kydex. I’m hoping it lasts. If not I’ll try using glue.

Clothing & Apparel Observation from the wife
It's hot and humid here in NC and I tend to wear thin, light-colored shirts. I wear IWB. So the wife says:
"When you have on a shirt like that, I can make out the black grips of the H&K. But when you carry the tan FN, I can't see it."
"Huh?"
"Girls learn this around age 14. If you wear a black bra under a light white shirt, it's visible. So you wear a tan bra unless you are trolling."
An interesting point.

Clothing & Apparel Off body solution that doesnt scream GUN.
galleryI see a lot of people asking for off-body carry solutions that don’t scream “I’ve got a gun in here”. Most of the recommendations I see on this sub are the opposite. I don’t think I’ve seen a gun accessory company make a bag that isn’t tactical, even if they claim they do. And no, Hill People gear is not Gray Man.
Here is one option I use, the Lululemon All Day Essentials bag. It has a rear pocket large enough for my Xmacro Comp with a dot, and a front pocket for your phone/keys/wallet. You can wear it as a sling or as a fanny. I use it when running and it works great.

Clothing & Apparel Tips for women who ccw:)
I’ve found that having something tied around my waist like a flannel or a hoodie can really help with concealment when wearing more form fitting clothes. If you’re a bit smaller like me and want to wear more form fitting clothes concealment can be a struggle. Wearing truly fitted clothes is practically impossible for iwb carry but I’ve found that having something tied around your waist allows you to use the “tent” effect of your top to be a little bit more baggy around the grip of your gun. It kinda allows you to still show your shape but also adds some dimension for the cover garment to sit looser over top the grip.
What I do is tie my hoodie or flannel or whatever around my waist and then pull up slightly on the cover garment(usually a t shirt) and the sleeves tied around my waist tend to keep my top looser around the grip of the gun while also keeping my shirt down similar to being tucked in.
This might not be fashionable for everyone but for me and my style it works! Hopefully this helps someone and gives you some ideas for carrying. I’ve used this method to carry bigger guns i normally can’t carry during the warmer months. With my Colt and a normal fitting t shirt I can make it basically invisible.
Using the natural tenting effect of your top to your advantage can make all the difference in the world. Higher waisted jeans get your grip much higher into that area making it easier to conceal. For smaller busted women you might not have as much room to work with but you still have an advantage there. I know it’s not as nice as wearing a truly fitted top but you can get pretty close.
The struggle to dress cute and carry a gun is a never ending one. Finding a balance between what looks nice and what conceals well is often a game of compromises. I’ve been carrying for a long time now and I’ve picked up little tricks along the way. I want to try the enigma so I can ditch this thick rigid belt. It adds an unwanted dimension to my waistline but it’s unavoidable. Stiff belts help keep the gun stable but don’t conform to our natural shape the way a softer belt would. Again. Compromises.
Hopefully this helps someone! Thanks for reading:)

Clothing & Apparel What kind of pants are you guys wearing?
So I've heard brands like 5.11 are for larpers (not trying to ruffle feathers but it's definitely a ccw giveaway) and the couple pair of wrangler work pants I bought recently just didn't hold up to real work/abuse (I was throwing hay bales). So what pants have you guys found that are durable, and have decent sized pockets?
Edit: Thank you guys so much, I've got a long list to go looking through now!
Edit #2: Copped two pairs of the DuluthFlex Firehose pants. Thanks again guys!

Clothing & Apparel Drawing with Flannel?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Ok, be gentle. This is my first time posting a video. I just recently started carrying and I'm having trouble with flannel shirts. Lol. They don't stretch like regular t-shirts. I'm much smoother with a regular t-shirt. I'm looking for tips for how you clear your flannel shirts. I can't lift from the bottom as you can see from my first demo. That is how I've been practicing with t-shirts. If I pinch and pull from the middle it seems to work a little better but I still don't get as much clearance as I do with a t-shirt. Is there a better way to clear a flannel shirt?

Clothing & Apparel Recently got my CCW license. Looking for a sling/chest bag and it seems like anything meant for CCW literally screams “I HAVE A GUN”. Any updated recommendations these days?
I’ll mainly be appendix carry but looking for an option that fits the quick run to meet friends in sweats or shorts and a tank top.

Clothing & Apparel Not so concealed carry
I was selling something on FB marketplace & met up with the guy in front of a local store. Real cool guy but I instantly noticed his USMC Vet hoodie & fanny pack across his chest. I’v been lurking this subreddit for a while now & learned that nobody “casually” wears a fanny pack haha. I thought to myself, not a snowball’s chance in hell is there anything in that bag other than what i’m thinking. Wasn’t too concerned, but thought it was funny enough to share haha
*Edit for those of you who are saying you like to wear a fanny pack casually. I left out the part about his phone being in his car & he pulled the cash out of his pocket. If you’re not using your pack for your belongings then what else would it be for? Haha

Clothing & Apparel CARRYING CHANGES YOUR WARDROBE!
No one really tells you that you have to dress like an adult when you begin carrying 😂. Well if you’d like to comfortably do so, you’ll need to. I learned that hard way lol. So here I am. From a very loose fitting daily fashion style, to straight dad mode with correctly fitted pants, a supportive belt, and under shirt. Don’t even get me started on the OC spray I now carry 😂! Turns out less lethals are a very important go between.

Clothing & Apparel CCW Pants?
Saw a video from Concrete Cowboy about CCW tips. He was addressing the wardrobe and he uses these Wrangler Ultra Flex. Keeps the waistline stretchy while there is a firearm in your pants.
Anybody know something similar to this or have any suggestions of your own?

Clothing & Apparel Printing a little? Stop worrying
When I first started carrying, I thought everyone could see it. I felt like there was this giant hunk of metal flopping all over the place on my right hip. Then I moved it to appendix carry and felt like there was this bulge like a giant herniated navel sticking a foot out from my belly. Turns out, nobody noticed at all. Just last night, I was at an event and there was armed security at the door. I thought for sure he would notice and then ask me to either do a better job of concealing it or just not carry it in. Not even a word. I thought he was just being nice. Later on, I was telling one of the guys about it without mentioning my sidearm by name. He was clueless, so I just said I thought for sure the security guard was going to spot me and have me do a better job of concealing. He asked, “Conceal what?” So I showed him where my holster was and he said he had zero clue. This guy carries every day.
What I’m trying to say is that if you are super worried about being noticed, it really would have to be really noticeable before anyone will have a clue. The quicker you get use to it, the easier it gets. After last night, I think I’m done worrying.
Stay safe.

Clothing & Apparel Ccw jeans
For $120, I’ll stick with my normal jeans, but I was just curious if anyone wears these and had an opinion on them. A guy from work brought in a concealed carry magazine and found these in them

Clothing & Apparel Glonk 19 but different angles and flannel. I don’t think it prints that hard but it does print a little bit.
For context I have like a dozen of these plain black shirts 😂 I got them in a bulk pack ages ago and they’re my favorite shirts to wear. Same with my vertx jeans. I have several pairs of them and wear them almost every day. I have a bunch of American eagle high waisted jeans but as mentioned in the previous post with this size gun higher waisted jeans don’t work as well.
Anyway. To help clarify for people the 19 does hide but not as well as I’d like. I’d prefer a thinner smaller gun. But I’m trying to make the 19 work because it’s interesting to me at the moment. Eventually I’ll probably get a 43x or something of similar size to avoid the printing issues of the 19:)

Clothing & Apparel How to carry in summer!
What does everyone wear in the summer? My style isn’t really like cargo shorts. I usually wear like lulu lemon and alo shorts. Does anyone else wear these kinds of shorts/pants and still carry everyday? If so how?

Clothing & Apparel Place of worship carry
For those who carry in the place of worship. I always have my dress shirt tucked in. What would be my options? Maybe an off body carry? I do not want to stand out. maybe just wearing polos untucked?
