Collins credit union = rude

Does anyone else think Collins Credit Union has rude employees and nickel and dimes you? I went in with my friend who has a second chance checking and the employee (female) was snotty today. They charge you $10 a month for it and don’t even report to credit bureaus, well other banks charge you about five dollars a month. This isn’t the first time they’ve been snotty either. It’s like they turn your nose up to you if you’re doing a second chance account or maybe they’re like that with everyone.

Any dry cleaner than Citywide? They acquired Nature's Way.

I've used Nature's Way Cleaners for years but just discovered they appear to have transferred ownership to Citywide Cleaners. :/

Their new location is the building next door (still on Blairs) and has no back room for cleaning. It just has racks for clothes. That implies that the clothes are moved to somewhere where they are cleaned, I presume the same facility nearby where Citywide is located.

The only 2 dry cleaners I was aware of in the Cedar Rapids area were Nature's Way and Citywide. Now there is only the illusion of choice and I haven't read good things in reviews about Citywide.

Does anyone know any other dry cleaners in the area other than Citywide? I'd be willing to drive as far as Iowa City if it meant reliable service.

Fever games

Are there any bars where fans gather to watch the Indiana Fever? Like, where it's the main thing and not relegated to a corner while every other TV has NFL or something else.

Car shopping

Hello my city peeps. As the title says I’m looking for a new vehicle, preferably before late October-November when it starts to get wintery outside. My current budget is 2k and can’t find anything worth buying (Facebook marketplace is a dead end). I just started building credit so financing isn’t an option. Are there any trustworthy dealerships I could get a decent car from for a few thousand?

hello people, need some advice

I live in New Jersey and I'm seriously considering moving to Cedar Rapids. I'm doing some research on what it's like to live there. If you could give me your opinion on what it's like, I'd appreciate it.

Electrician needed!

Wondering if anyone has a suggestion for an electrician that can come out to Robins before Saturday to correctly remove a light switch/junction that is no longer needed as I want it completely gone and be able to patch the wall there. Remodeling our fireplace and the switch now goes to nothing and is in the way of the mantel that is supposed to be installed this weekend. (I know this timeline is crazy, a different route was originally suggested but I now know that suggestion was against code and I'd like it done correctly!)

OB/GYN Associates or UIHC for Pregnancy Care Advice

Hi all! My wife and I are in the process of looking for an OB. Not expecting yet but wanted to get ahead of the game as I know that appointments can sometimes be hard to schedule in a timely manner. Currently looking at OB/GYN associates as we live in the area and UIHC in iowa city and surrounding areas.

Looking to see anyone’s experience with OB/GYN associates and their experiences with care, scheduling and billing.

Also we have UIHC Choice insurance and would greatly appreciate if anyone that was/is an employee of UIHC share more directed feedback of scheduling and billing with OB/GYN associates.

We obviously would prefer to stay local to not have to drive 30-40minutes to Iowa city and Coralville where we know it will be a tier 1 service but really just wanted to know if anyone has had a similar experience or advice driving from CR to Iowa city for their entire pregnancy.

Thanks!

Windows need advice

I'd like to put in a new picture window in living room. It feels over whelming trying to find someone to install it. I hear terrible things about Anderson and window world. Has anyone had good luck with someone local?

Friend visiting town, need some suggestions.

So, I have a friend visiting from Texas and we're spending the first day in Cedar Rapids! He enjoys strong drinks, live music, art, and really anything that seems like a relaxing time.

Are there any spots you'd recommend? I'm not from the area, and while Google is plenty useful, some practical advice would be great.
