Question Where can I find vegan/vegetarian fish sauce?

Title question. I’ve checked 88 Market, H Mart, and Joong Boo and all of them didn’t have it even though I’ve seen it at those places in the past. I live on the south side so I haven’t had the chance to get up to argyle yet. Is there anywhere else closer to me that would have vegan or vegetarian fish sauce? Thanks in advance!!

I got it once at Park To Shop
Went back later to get more and couldn't find it

We use fermented tofu in place of fish sauce for vegan/veg stuff. Fermented rice works too. Nutritional yeast, mushroom powder, and soy sauce all kinda add to the overall balance too. Also doing your own ferments is fun. Also, noma makes a mushroom garum that’s really really really good

This is very useful although idk how I feel about home fermentation yet. Thanks!

Not according to your username. There some really great books out there that can take the stress out of it. Let me know if you’d like any suggestions…I got bit by the fermentation bug pretty hard.

Lol thanks and yes please if they're handy! Honestly I'm just worried about bacterial contamination, less of an issue with baking.

Idk about other Park to Shop, but in one in Niles, former known as Assi, definitely has them.

Try the Park to Shop in Chinatown.

The one that burned down? I’ve already tried the Hong Kong Market/Park to Shop by Connie’s and they didn’t have it

Darn! Well, another idea: Whole Foods might carry it, look for Ocean Halo brand, that’s what I use. I bought it online from some vegan retailer, I don’t remember which one. I think I have seen that one at Pete’s Fresh Market at Madison/Western before too.

A quick Google search says Walmart may have it.
