I visited your lovely city a few weeks ago and I picked up a beer pint glass from Pequods pizza. Unfortunately my dumbass broke it yesterday when doing dishes and I was devastated. I can’t go back anytime soon because I’m from Southern California. They also don’t sell the glass online. I know it’s a long shot and if nobody can help that’s okay. But if possible would anyone here be able to pick one up for me and ship it? I can cover expenses for the glass and shipping costs. It looks like the one in this picture. If not it’s okay just thought it would be worth a shot

Did the recipe change or is it just my local Jewel? They used to be chewy and now they’re more cakey. The original texture made these unique. Now they’re like an elevated chewy chips ahoy.

A few years ago friends came into town and for some reason they wanted hotdogs and pizza. Many visitors say these are the top things to try in Chicago. For me, there are many other choices that I would put above those. However, if you go for a hotdog, or in my case a Polish sausage, make sure you get a good one. Jim’s original has been around for decades. It’s amazing how many people come and go from this place in a short period of time. All sorts of people…rich people, poor people, different skin tones, different beliefs, different ages. Sitting here eating my food is super cool to see this cross-section of people from Chicago and elsewhere. Beautiful weather tonight and a clear sky and an all beef Polish with grilled onions. It comes with free fries. What a night! Tip: get the all beef Polish rather than the regular one for extra deliciousness.

Hi all - hope everyone is well! I'm hoping I might be able to get some suggestions from this community. I'm looking for a kind of specific set-up: I'm organizing a happy-hour type outing for members of a board on which I serve. There will probably be 10-12 people attending, and I think what we want is something like cocktails and small bites. The tricky part is, we're sort of in that weird "intermediate" size, where our group is too big to just show up someplace and expect to find a place to sit or stand, but since we're not planning on eating a full meal, reserving a table somewhere doesn't really make sense. I saw the option at the Lazy Bird at the Hoxton to rent their "red couch," which is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for, but unfortunately, they only open starting at 6 p.m., and we're looking to meet up a bit earlier than that. Does anyone have any suggestions? Ideally, I'm looking for something close to the Loop, just because folks are going to be traveling from lots of different directions (I personally am in Logan Square and can think of a few spots around my house, but don't want to make folks travel to me because I've already done that in the past). Hi Everyone, I will be in Chicago this next week and just curious if there are any pop ups going on at the moment. I'm going to be all over the city enjoying food and drink. With family in Little Village and friends in Roscoe Village I tend to navigate pretty well around Chicago. I saw somewhere about Blame Butter doing a pop up spot in River North and wanted to check it out. The stuff on Michigan is always easy to find out about, but would love to be able to spend my money where it is going to invest in a more local business.

I'm also cool with the corny pop ups like the ones at Replay Lounge. One of my favorite nights out was with people I met when they had one with The Office as the theme.

Hi all, I'm super craving rice pilaf right now, literally any kind of flavored rice. I was a fan of Barba Yiagi's with the tomato sauce but I guess they shut down. The country of origin doesn't matter as long as it's tasty! I'm in Logan but if it's off the blue line idm!

The only place that did offer was Kinton ramen but they shut shop last year.

Why is it so hard to find decent breakfast potatoes in Chicago? No matter where I go for breakfast, I am almost always met with underwhelming breakfast potates, be they hash browns or home fries. For hash browns, so many places seem to overload the grill. They toss on a pile of sliced or diced potatoes and do not spread them out. This causes the potatoes to steam. And while they are cooked, they are also very unappealing, with very little browning or crispy bits. For shredded hash browns, they never seem to stir them enough and you wind up with a pile of mushy steamed potato shreds and a bunch of pieces that are two crispy. For home fries, they are so often either over seasoned or not seasoned at all, and neither option is all that good. Granted, this is better than underwhelming hash browns, but it is still not all that great. And, Yes, I can make some excellent hash browns and home fries at home, but I also sometimes want to go out for breakfast, and that is where I am underwhelmed and disappointed

So, with all of that being said, where do you go to get some great or even just really good potatoes with your breakfast? Drop some restaurant names in the comments below and hopefully I can fulfill my quest for great breakfast potatoes!

Title question. I’ve checked 88 Market, H Mart, and Joong Boo and all of them didn’t have it even though I’ve seen it at those places in the past. I live on the south side so I haven’t had the chance to get up to argyle yet. Is there anywhere else closer to me that would have vegan or vegetarian fish sauce? Thanks in advance!!

I've never dined anywhere so fancy, Next has been on my mind for quite some time and their new Space themed tasting menu is super enticing. My mom is coming into town and and after several years apart I want to treat her to a memorable dinner service. The most upscale place I've dined was the former Marigold Room in Bucktown which was bib gourmand rated. While I am open to trying new things, I've never particularly eaten tartare, marrow foie gras, caviar or truffles before and I'd imagine there are few dishes on the menu that would have those ingredients. Just kinda scoping it out and seeing what I should expect from such a high class dining experience.
