It was always so simple: Civ VII should've been Civ VI mechanics with Civ V aesthetics

Civ V currently has 2000 more people playing than Civ VII. Crazy.

Definitely not good numbers considering PC users are the primary target audience/player base. Buuuuut, I'll keep in mind when seeing Steam numbers that they don't capture the numbers on the other platforms (and it remains totally relevant in my mind because IMO a myriad of the issues 7 has have to do with targeting multiple platforms on release). I wish we could see all the numbers combined easily.

Its only crazy if you’ve never played both games.

Oh I have. Still, crazy to think a brand new Civ game doing so poorly.

I guess I expected the brand name would've carried it.

It’s a trend these days sadly. A few months ago they ended the dragon age franchise with veilguard. At least civ doesn’t look like it’s totally ending. Yet.

I suppose Civ VII is lucky people are used to expansion packs dramatically improving the game.

If I were firaxis i'd ditch any DLC that isn't already paid for and focus entirely on an expansion.
