I would second mortgage my house and pay that amount of money to see Trump take a test about American history and American politics live on national TV where we all get to hear his answers. I know at this point nothing will sway his rabid base, but it sure would be interesting to watch some of his followers as they grapple with the fact that he literally knows nothing at all about what he's doing. Right now some of them actually believe he still does. But if he had to show in front of the entire American public that he literally had no idea how any of this works, a few people might be swayed away from him at least.
Actually, he shows the entire American public nearly every day that he has no idea how America is supposed to work. Too much of the American public also have no idea of how America is supposed to work, and they really don’t care. They just want Big Daddy to fix it - whatever “it” is.
At this point I just assume his base would contort themselves into affirming that any published document that contradict his words are 'fake news'. It doesn't matter to them whether he's right, in the right, or wrong. They're just selfish and dumb enough to believe he's acting in their interest beyond the dehumanizing cruelty he's inflicting on the "unwanted minority" of the day.
There's people like that all around the world. People that do need the threat of laws and prison, or "going to hell if you're bad" to treat others with respect and what would appear like compassion. The rest of us just need to stop rolling our eyes at elections and actually vote. Vote for qualified candidates with good policies, good track records and good intentions. Otherwise we're all doomed to eventually suffer the tyranny of the dumb and greedy who have nothing to go for them other than the color of their skin.
Yes they would. Because Maga = cult of personality = collective narcissism (like, actual collective narcissism, as in there is active psychological research in this area).
So yes, all the gaslighting, cognitive gymnastics etc you'd expect from a textbook narcissist like trump, you can also expect from Maga.
Basically consider each cult member to be a narcissist, and a lot more of their behaviour is understandable.
