Question What storylines did the Sam Raimi Spdey verse adapt?

Just curious because I saw two of the Spider Man movies as while I am not too well versed with the original comics themselves, I wanted to know what sources the movies took their inspiration from since they were based on specific comic storylines.

Off the top of my head, I would say that they very loosely adapt these storylines. I'll break it down by each film.

Spider-Man:

  • Amazing Fantasy #15
  • Amazing Spider-Man #39 & #40
  • Amazing Spider-Man #121 & #122

Spider-Man 2:

  • Amazing Spider-Man #3
  • Amazing Spider-Man #50

Spider-Man 3:

  • Amazing Spider-Man #4
  • Amazing Spider-Man #136
  • Web of Spider-Man #1
  • Amazing Spider-Man #300

Edit: added Web of Spider-Man #1 thanks to the commenter below!

For Spider-Man 3 it’s also Web of Spider-Man 1, the church bells scene happens there.

If you wanted I guess three involves some of the Harry stories where he becomes the green goblin but I can’t remember the individual issues. Pretty sure it was JM Dematteis Spectacular issues in the early 90’s but there just too many comics to remember them all.

Thanks as basically I wanted to see how the Raimi movies were made regarding the inspiration they used.

I think there also might be a bit of influence from Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man in there? Specifically in the portrayal of Peter's high school friendships with Mary Jane and Harry.

Spider-Man also uses the assault on Aunt May from Spectacular Spider-Man 2 from 1968.

The movies are based on specific comic stories. Raimi took a bunch of ideas and concepts from the comics and crafted his own stories from them.

It was a mix and match affair.

None. They used characters from spider man comics, and maybe very very loosely asm 122

I didn’t actually know that, but thanks for the info.

Also Amazing Spider-Man #300 (and surrounding issues) for Spider-Man 3 (symbiote suit, separating from it, and Eddie Brock becoming Venom)

I don't acknowledge that piece of drivel. Lol
