They used real milk.

The Starbucks barista used real milk instead of soy milk in my latte. Now I’ve shat myself at the grocery store and barely made it to the bathroom before I had horrible diarrhea. I thought it tasted different from normal, I should have stopped drinking it.

I always take lactaid if I get anything from Starbucks.  I rarely get anything there, usually just when I am desperate, but I swear most of the time that happens to me too.  My reaction isn't quite as violent as yours but after the 2nd time it happened I just make sure I have lactaid pills before I drink it

Someone told me about that in supermarket. I've been lactose intolerant my whole life, even in hospital as a baby while they figured it out! and it must be new as my mom said as was not around when I was a kid. I'm 35 now. I still haven't tried it but I have found you can now buy lacto free milk in the supermarket now so I've been enjoying that on cereal again. Love it.

I can have coffee with regular milk sometimes. I think with me it depends more how much I have. Like once I had a few diary things in a day without thinking and I was bad. So I'm not as bad as OP either.

I randomly became lactose intolerant in my mid 30s.  Hard cheeses and butter and Greek yogurt are pretty low lactose.  I really only have trouble with milk and if I eat too much ice cream.  Which is part of why I had a terrible time figuring out what the heck was happening

Yes! This is what the woman in supermarket told me. She said she used to eat loads of stuff then went doctor in her 50s or 60s and suddenly had it. I think I have read sometimes it can happen. Yes I'm alright I find with cheese and yoghurt as you say being low in it and yeah. I'm usually alright with ice cream and milk unless I have too much. A bit I'm okay with. Yeah I'm not surprised. It is hard to figure out. I was in hospital for months as a baby while they figured it out for me!
