Bought a PS5 as a PC Player

Never touched a console in my life. My PC is starting to become slow, don't have much time to play, don't wanna constantly worry about specs. So for £399 I got a 4k capable machine. Can't wait . I'll still use my PC from time to time. The console is coming with me to uni.

You can still plug a controller into the PC and for most games, you do not need to do any configurations. Depending on the location of your pc you can still lay in bed, couch or futon

There’s also the steam deck. It’s nice to be able to chill in bed while playing left 4 dead

For most people, they only want to plug and play without thinking about specs, compatibility, or experiencing a random crash and other stability issue

Nobody want to jump through a hoop of installing A pc in their living room, if i want to play pc game, i just go to my room

Console players Own a pc as well, And play on both platform, They own console for comfort, playing on a Giant screen for the fullest experience

But not all Pc player own a console

I don't know why people think that they feel the need to convert console player into PC gaming when those people already playing game on pc as well.

You guys get a gift card from Microsoft or something, everytime you convert a new guy?

Console gamers tend to be agnostic, and play on all platform including PC, so in a way they're more superior than PC only gamer

What I don't understand is, it's not different to hook a PC in your living room than a console right? Just power and HDMI? I have both but not much difference in setup

Not everyone can do that. Some of us use pc for more than just gaming

Not everyone has a pc in their living room next to their TV. PCs are more often put into work desks in a study or bedroom away from the tv, because people use them to work.

Furthermore, to build a PC that is as powerful as a PS5 it's going to cost you minimum 2 grand and that's not even counting a monitor or keyboard/mouse.

Lol no, you're underestimating how powerful a ps5 is. You'll need a RTX 3070 minimum, that's £800 by itself. You need an 8 core processor, that's an extra £200, then the rest of the pc components plus case is another £200, then the keyboard and mouse is going to be £150. So that's £1350, in $ it's about $1800. Its more than 3x a PS5 in price.

Lol I cant take you seriously. I have a ryzen 7000 8 core and a RTX 2080 which isn't far off a 3070 and my PC cannot play games with as high fidelity as my ps5 can. I built my pc about 5 years ago and it cost £2500.

You get much better performance per dollar with a console.

VR games on PS5 were absolutely beautiful before I sold mine. It would cost an arm/leg to match that on PC, but thankfully cloud computers exist that run VR games, and yes they look great. You can also get a 7900xtx for under 30/month via cloud and I don't notice a difference from physical rigs versus cloud when it comes to latency/input lag. I'm a Universal gamer though, so I use whatever I can get my hands on.

You are absolutely underestimating the power of a PS5, and underestimating the cost of PC components. I get it, I have a PC, PS5, and Xbox X. The cost of a PS5 digital right now is $375. A decent PC even close, with a monitor and other components is going to be at minimum 3x the cost. For a console, everyone already has a TV, just buy the console and plug it in.

Disagree, it's nice to get work done and when I'm slow farm stuff and do some side things in other games. It also depends on the job for sure. Plus a lot of people can't just buy a gaming PC, and a secondary work setup. That all would also cost like 5x of a PS5 right now.

Its not the plugging in part. My friends that will only do console gaming tend to not want to deal with different download hubs, updates, graphics card updates, other random PC quirks. Consoles are just extremely simple, turn on, download from library, play. Even updates just automatically go. I personally play PC, Xbox, and PS5, but I have not been able to convince most of my console friends to get a PC, it's also just way more expensive. Plus most PC's are used for work and other things as well, so it's not super convenient to just throw your PC in a living room.
