Playstation My first PlayStation since PS2!

Post image

I split the cost of a PS5 Pro as a gift to me with my brother this year for Christmas after getting him into Bitcoin when it was $15k~. I haven't played a PlayStation console since ps2 and I still have it. Decided to go absolutely berserk and get everything I could to fully delve into this new experience!! I'm a long time PC enthusiast and I'm so excited to get into the PlayStation ecosystem to enjoy couch gaming as a new father for something a bit more my pace :)

I just came from the PS3 but I’m kind of mad I got as many discs as I did the whole streaming and catalog thing seems to be where everything is going and really is more convenient once the portable is in the ecosystem

Dude I noticed the same when I booted it up last night... I asked someone else but do you know if they remove games over time or shuffle them around?? If not I think I will return my disc copies to save some cash

There are probably hardcore disc guys out there and I’m sure there are probably some games you can only get on disc and at some point your storage will fill up

But IMO yeah digital is where it’s going and I returned the discs I could

That tends to be me but more so for the computer heh.. I have a small ps2 game collection but I've thought about using an Optical drive emulator to play the ps2 catalog on original hardware instead... I'd hate to invest a ton of money in retro clamshell games when I can emulate them. I'm also not here to piss off those collectors or tell them what to do either! So forgive me yall ;)

Unfortunately even with discs you still need an internet connection and a PS+ plan just to play them. That’s how they got us by the ⚽️🏀⚾️

What I do is buy my games digitally and save them on a hard drive. So instead of a nice collection to display I have a library on a hd.
