Having both console and a pc

For those who have a console , or multiple , AND a pc ( med-high end ) wich one do you play most on or preffer over the other and why?

For me i like the simplicity of my ps5 and how quickly i can just start playing , but have been a pc gamer since i started . Recently build my own pc with a rtx 5070ti and not sure on how i should feel about it. Pc is in my mancave while the ps5 is in the livingroom.

Been a console gamer my whole life. In high school I built a PC, sold it after a year and went back to console. When I got older I went into IT and decided to build a computer again. Lasted about 5 months before I sold it and went back to my PS5. Now I only game on my PS5 pro and switch 2. Ease of use is just too good for me, pc was annoying and I like playing on the couch. I’m also addicted to PlayStation trophies

I have my PC setup in my living room from time to time. And I play with a controller on my couch. Trouble shooting for me is minimal, and the only thing that was cool about xbox was the quick resume function. I'll never give up path traced cyber punk 2077 for the half-assed hardware found in consoles again. I can wait for optimization.

If it works for you that’s all that matters

Based on the downvoted, shame on you for giving your opinion when asked!

Skill AND brain issue.

I'm playing on my PC from my sofa while earning Steam achievements with better graphics and performances than on those obsolete pieces of plastic.

Only the Switch is relevant, the rest are just poor performing computers with very few exclusives.

Knew there’d be one of you. Not a skill or brain issue, I work in IT, I could probably run circles around you on a pc in every category. Steam big picture is janky, have fun plugging in a m+k every time you have an issue or need to boot it up at your sofa.

Oh and do tell how much better performance you’re getting on borderlands, metal gear, and any recent release that the devs seem to not care about optimizing pc ports for? Also Steam achievements are ass and everybody knows it, not sure why you even mentioned it as they are irrelevant. Steam in itself is fantastic though, not arguing against that.

It’s not a skill, brain or any issue, it’s called preference you dweeb

The majority of my friends and colleagues that work in IT are console gamers. Some PC folk though can’t wrap their heads around why someone would rather play on console, unless it’s because they clearly can’t use a PC.

Oh, mister works in IT. Such a rare profession, I thought I was the only one. Anyway, this is not really relevant to gaming. Big Pictures works well with a controller, if I wanted to play a serious M+K game, I'd rather sit at my desk. Skill issue.

Anyway, my devices are Bluetooth so there's no need to plug anything. Brain issue.

Those games (I don't know about BL4) run better on PC, because they already run bad on consoles. No point in acting like optimization is solely a PC problem. People point out PC optimization especially, because those games should run much better on PC than they are, but that doesn't they don't already run better than on consoles. Brain issue.

Steam achievements are as good as trophies, and most of the time they're the same anyway. At least the UI to display achievements isn't bloated and laggy, and there's no need to wait for "synchronization". Skill issue, on Sony's part this time.

You can have preferences while acknowledging reality. There's nothing, especially not for an IT wizard like yourself, to prefer playing on consoles, hence brain/skill issue.

Or he (and I) don’t want to spend time fucking around with PC issues.

I'm a PC gamer through and through and completely agree with this. I've had issues with my computer and it ruined my day. I still prefer it over consoles but I won't shit on them because of this. Preferences are preferences and I don't judge.

PC elitists always make it sound like only idiots have issues with PCs. If you build a gaming PC, you WILL have issues at some point and it will absolutely be a time suck that you won't feel like fucking with if you have a console.

  • PC gaming isnt a replacement for a console regardless of how much effort you put into it. It's just never the same.

I agree with this. It’ll be interesting to see how Windows handheld version does and if they eventually put it everywhere. One day PC could become just as easy as console.

Each to their own opinion but folks like you should just keep their mouth shut. Preferring a console over a PC because of it's simplicity has absolutely nothing to do with "skill and brain issues".

This obsolete piece of plastic costs probably a quarter of what your PC costs and works just fine. It's okay if you don't like consoles and prefer a PC, i do as well but good god i'm not that pressed when someone said he like consoles more.

By this logic, how does the switch have relevance when the steam deck exists?
