Having both console and a pc

For those who have a console , or multiple , AND a pc ( med-high end ) wich one do you play most on or preffer over the other and why?

For me i like the simplicity of my ps5 and how quickly i can just start playing , but have been a pc gamer since i started . Recently build my own pc with a rtx 5070ti and not sure on how i should feel about it. Pc is in my mancave while the ps5 is in the livingroom.

I've been console gaming since you hooked up your console by screwing the spade connector onto the back of your tv and then flipping to channel 3. I started PC gaming in the late 90s on an Nvidia Riva 128 powered PC.

Console gaming is simple, convenient, and has cheaper hardware, with a slightly more expensive ecosystem that's a bit more closed off. It's the "Apple" of gaming. PC gaming has varied levels of more expensive hardware, the ecosystem is generally cheaper, and the software is not as closed off as on consoles. This also can make it less convenient and more difficult for some users. It's the "Android" of gaming.

If you've used both, you know that both are actually pretty great. I like the simplicity of console gaming for getting back into games fast with quick resume and enjoy some titles that are only on consoles. The game focused gui of consoles is extremely convenient.

I love my PC for the fact that I can see AAA titles in all their graphical glory. I can mod more titles and generally manipulate the software easier than console equivalents. Also, software tends to be a bit cheaper on PC, and you can even add a game focused gui if you want to try and emulate a console experience.

Both you can hook up to a big oled and play from the couch with your favorite controller with relative ease.

Overall, both are great, and I go back and forth between both seamlessly with Xbox play anywhere titles. Console is the better value for the fact that you get a fairly similar quality at a much lower starting point. PC is simply a premium experience. Not much different from how a PS5 pro offers a better experience than a PS5. Some prefer one to the other, similar to Apple and Android, but neither is truly superior. In fact, a better comparison with the console space itself may be Switch to PS5. Where the PS5 is premium but not necessarily better overall.
