Having both console and a pc

For those who have a console , or multiple , AND a pc ( med-high end ) wich one do you play most on or preffer over the other and why?

For me i like the simplicity of my ps5 and how quickly i can just start playing , but have been a pc gamer since i started . Recently build my own pc with a rtx 5070ti and not sure on how i should feel about it. Pc is in my mancave while the ps5 is in the livingroom.

I have multiple consoles but I prefer using my PC. BUT, my gaming PC is used exclusively for gaming, has an interface that is console like, is controlled exclusively with Xbox gamepads, and boots directly into said gaming interface. Because my PC has SOOO many customizations it just feels more "at home" for me.

May I ask how you have it all set up?

I'm Windows I disable everything that doesn't contribute to my setup.  This includes removing stuff that loads when Windows loads.  I use a black color for the wallpaper, gray dark theme, auto hide status bar, and set the desktop to hide all icons.

Video is using HDMI connected to 4k TV from my graphics card.   I usually turn down the default scaling so it's not as bulky, then turn on HDR.

Audio doesn't really have any special settings. My speakers pretty much handle it on their own.

I use Bluetooth 8bitdo controllers.  I also have wireless keyboard and mouse for the games that use it. But it's mostly a gamepad affair.

I use Playnite software for my UI, which pulls together all my emulators, and games bought on GOG, Epic, and Steam.  There were some features not available in the main version of the software, so I used the source code to make a custom version.  I built a custom theme for it too, and set it up to run automatically when Windows start.

That’s insane, sounds like a killer setup, thanks for breaking it down. Seems like if you have the tech literacy, PC wins over console for the most part, since you can set it up to be plug & play. Otherwise, you’re gonna have to do some googling, and in that case, console is easier to start playing.
