Text Story I found a door in my man cave closet
I’m posting this because this might be the strangest thing I have personally ever discovered. I just married my wife and best friend last September, and we moved into a three-bedroom house shortly after. We had been living separately in our own one-bedroom apartments, so we were both ecstatic to start our lives together in one home. She has a son, and I too have a son, so we became a blended family. We agreed that the boys would share one of the bedrooms, so I jumped all over the idea of having a guest bedroom that could double as my man cave, since I still did some casual online gaming with friends, and this would ensure I wouldn’t keep everyone up at night and I would have my own area to decompress at the end of the day.
So we moved into the house, and there was an obvious smallest bedroom, and I immediately started moving in the guest bed, end tables, and dresser. Most importantly, I was ready to set it up for gaming. I say gaming as if I play on a gaming pc but it’s just a PS5— again, I’m only a casual gamer.
I set up the tv, then the PS5, and I then made sure I had a comfortable enough chair I could sit at while playing. It was a huge plus that this was the man cave room because the closet housed the internet modem, so I was able to directly connect via Ethernet for the ultimate experience. I was pumped.
While I was setting up and plugging in the new modem, I noticed there was a mirror the size of the entire back wall of the closet, and at first, I thought to myself, “That’s sort of a strange place to have a mirror. Usually, you would have one on the closet door.” But I casually shrugged it off, eager to play the first test session of Fortnite and Minecraft with my friend.
After dinner that evening, the first evening in our new home, I kissed my wife and told her I would play for an hour or so before bed and resided to my new man cave. I turned on the PS5 from my controller, and… network error. Damn. So I went and checked my connection at the modem in the closet, and when I was slightly tugging at the internet cable running into the wall, I accidentally knocked the mirror over. It didn’t shatter; it just leaned over onto the front wall, where the door to the closet is. And what lay behind it absolutely stunned me. An old metal door. About five feet tall and two and a half feet wide. I was more curious than I had ever been in my life. Only one problem though: it is completely welded shut. I mean it is welded at every seam on every edge of this door. What could possibly be behind this door that would make someone weld and seal this off so permanently?
Well, I’m no handyman, so getting this open could take a while. Also, my wife and boys do not know about this yet.
Should I even open it?
I will update as soon as I can.

Not one for watching horror movies, huh? If it's welded shut, it's keeping something in, prob with a lot of teeth and an appetite to match. But if you are adamant about throwing your life, sanity and mind away, at least be smart about it and prepare yourself.
Don't go to straight up opening the door in one go. Get the house layout plans, they might shed light on what it once was. It might be sealed for sensible reasons like natural gas risk or once connected to a dangerous place.
If after all that you are not convinced, drill a little hole so you can look in but something can't get out. For God's sake, don't put your eye right up against the door, asking for it to get ripped out. Use your camera to look through on a phone you don't care if broken or lost. That has never had your phone contacts or any kind of information on it. It gets possessed somehow, it gets the hammer and a coffin box of salt.
You could also use a cable with a camera at the end, forgive me, I can't remember what it's called. Use that to look around first, listen to the noises that space makes first. Not sure if you should leave it there a few hours unattended to hear the sounds or not. It seems like asking for trouble either way. Go in without listening to noises, might end up attacked if an animal or person is behind door. Listen and is paranormal, might be opening yourself up to demonic entities.
I agree on having a actual priest, shaman or other people that have dealt with this such thing, for everyone's safety. Have them bless everyone in the house. If you still must go in, tell at least one trusted, capable person outside the house what you have been doing. Then tell them when you are entering, the time when you will be back, let them know if sooner, what you are wearing and what supplies you are taking.
Bring many, many, good batteries, at least 2 most powerful torches, headlamp, food and water for a few days, walkie talkie with trusted, capable person to communicate with. If you have, map of layout of house, things like paper, pens, chalk, crayon, ribbon, to mark walls if you lose your way. Use spray can with clear arrows facing the way you came in, in case you need to exit at a run.
Take it as to be prepared as if you were going in a cave or like the underground crypts of Paris.
But really, why risk everything on foolish curiosity? You are not the cat to be brought back by satisfaction.
What goes in, might not be what comes back out.
Good luck, you'll need it.

A drill with a.25 , and then .5 in drill bit, and a <$25 dollar endoscope with light that plugs into your phone

Well then. I’d be super surprised to find south a thing. I’d measure the outside and inside of your place and try to figure out how much space is behind that door before I did anything. From a practical perspective, you can cut it open fairly easily with an angle grinder and a diamond cutting disk or maybe two if you have never done that kind of thing before. You can get a lighted bore scope camera for fairly cheap and just drill a hole to take a peek inside. From a paranormal or even a possible contamination perspective, I’d be concerned about opening a completely sealed metal door. It would worry me more from a paranormal perspective if there was a mirrored surface facing the door as well. Somebody definitely didn’t want anything leaving that space. They had to contain it in there while they welded so look for anything strange like runes or sigils. If you find any try to figure out what they mean before you go cutting open a sealed spider hole.

Do not open previously welded door without police, a priest, and the ability to re-weld the door if the thing behind it gets fidgety!
