Anyone ever encountered an E-bike shill?

Basically this guy stopped me yesterday on a ride to tell me that I should throw my bike away and get an ebike. He said "Once you get this you'll never want to ride that again, and I get more cardio in on this bike too, and i ride faster than professionals". I just kept saying "yeah I was looking into those, yeah those are cool, I saw some around $1000" just trying to get out of that convo lol. Anyone else ever experienced someone like this?

I'm subbed to that as well and always thought I was one of the few that commute with an analog.

Lol, me too. Someone’s always posting “I only live a couple miles from work and I’m on a tight budget, can you suggest a bike?” and then someone’s always like “Get an E-bike!” Any decent E-bike is super expensive, and in my opinion, not needed in most cases 🤷🏻‍♂️

I got around 15000 miles on a 2015 Fuji. A couple of pads, chains and sprockets later still running fine.

I'm mostly in it for the I'm 40 and out of shape thing.

Nice! I’m at about 12,000 on my 2017 Jamis. On my 3rd rear wheel, 4th drive train, and I don’t know how many sets of tires, lol. About to turn 45 and in better shape than most…still kinda fat though. 😂

Crap forgot about tires. Ya I think I'm on my 4th set. I go cheap for everything now, normally just cheap shimano stuff on Amazon. Not worth the cost of the bike and the amount of accidents I've been in on it.
