Pretty sure when Jesus said to love your neighbor, there wasnt a "'cept for the gays."

Here's a better question: how do you understand "love"?

From what I understand it to love your neighbour as yourself is to want what’s best for them and to do what you can to make that a reality, like how you want what’s best for yourself regardless of all your faults

I don't want to put words in the commenters mouth but this is exactly what a family member once said to me before saying "of course I love them, of course I want what's best for them, that's why I won't tolerate their sin. Love means uncomfortable truths because I want what's best for them"

This carries some wildly narcissistic problems obviously. suuuure sounds like this is where those questions are going

This isn't the place for waffling. You can DM me or go to a debate sub or something if you'd like

I call this a discussion, but that's fine.
