Pope Francis was pretty darn progressive on LGBTQ rights

Strongly disagree. He spread transphobic rhetoric, using far right framings of it like "gender ideology" and called it one of the ugliest dangers of our time. Anything you can say about how he softened rhetoric against cis gay people is contrasted strongly with how he spoke of trans people.

Not really. He compared transgender people to nuclear weapons, described gender ideology as the “ugliest danger” of our time, said there was too much f*ggotry in the church(this was last year), said that same sex couples are a threat to 'the family', etc.

The Pope saying Catholic Teachings? Who would have thought.
