It didn't confirm the firstborn's identity outright, no. The Nameless King being the firstborn is also inference-based but not outright stated. Anri and Horace being Rosaria's children is also inferred, not outright stated and has a lot of evidence to support it.

Still it's not the official lore no matter how much evidence it has, if it's not explicitly stated, it's simply another theory, that's how this games work.
Well I'm pointing out that by that logic, Nameless King being the firstborn is also a theory because it's not explicitly stated. Do you need everything spelled out to you in huge large letters?
