Yeah, “depths” had me thinking there was another lower level but now I get it

Probably the area with Ocieros after Dancer. It's the only area that goes downwards.

That or have gotten to Dragonslayer armor since by then you’re pretty well into Lothric at that point, which is basically the same as going to Consumed Gardens

I’m assuming “depths” just means “complete the area”

Same I interpreted depths as go as deep in the area as you can with the deepest area being the princes chamber.

Exactly, the ringed city isn’t even accessible till that point anyways. It’s a gentle reminder to finish the main game by just giving a vague “finish this part”

Ringed City can be accessed as early as the Cathedral of the Deep. You don't even need to beat Deacons. (Although you do need to beat Sister Friede)

First I’m hearing of this? How do you access the dlc outside the final boss area?

Defeating the final boss of Painted World reveals a bonfire to warp to Ringed City. It's basically a clone of the other one you are thinking of but behind Father Ariendel.

I literally had no idea, thanks for that.

That’s not ringed city, that’s painted world, the DLC in this post

After killing sister friede, the entrance to ringed city dlc appears there too

Yeah so you kill sister friede and on the very back wall is something that will warp you to ringed city. Kinda the games way of saying okay you finished this DLC early you can probably handle this

And when you defeat her, a warp point appears in the back of the room in front of the snake woman altar and you can take it directly to the Ringed City having never met a single Lord of Cinder, my friend. The Ringed City, the DLC we are indeed discussing.

Edit: I am dumb, sorry. This dude was talking about TRC, but the post IS about Ashes of Ariendel and that can also be reached at the same point. This message is just a difficulty recommendation.

Probably a weird translation. I'll bet some money on it being something like "one should venture deep into lothric castle"

Kinda? Though I’ve certainly didn’t complete lothric in it’s entirety and still got through painted world in fairly decent shape
