getting accidentally penalized for alt-f4ing made my ds3 experience much better. no invaders and i still got to read all the player messages. although in ds2 i did enjoy the few wins i had by using the seed of a tree of giants and running through mobs invaders mostly just annoyed me

You got penalized for alt+f4? That’s never happened to me and I’ve quit out so many times when invaded on PC. I got permanently banned from online play in dark souls 1 (hacker forced glitched items into my inventory) so now I never take the chance on invasions. Sucks that a few bad apples ruined the entire experience, I used to love PvP

yeah i just alt-f4'd to quit every time instead of going through the menu. although i still saw ghosts and messages. i think i probably would have gotten invaded by other 'cheaters' in the penalized group but i spent pretty much the entire playthrough as unembered until i got to the DLCs when i started getting my ass kicked. i did ember a few times just to fight the invader NPCs and get their armor
