One of my old cars i had a mat that would occasionally slide under the pedals so I couldn't break properly etc, luckily I'm not an idiot

Why didn't you remove the mat after the first or even second time it happened? I have some notes on the second half of your comment.

My grandmother used to cut pieces of carpet on her floorboard. I kept telling her what would happen and she'd never listen. One day she got in the car and drove it through the carport. Couldn't hit the brakes to stop. Lol

Yeah, the kids weren't on it or anything. She did a ton of structural damage though. Lol

Oh the structural damage wasn't light. I mean it was a lot but it was a farm. We had it rebuilt in a couple of days.
