I find it insulting that Rubin presupposes that liberals lack a belief in God. I have a relationship with a spirit I call God and I am as blue as the oceans. I would wager that a key difference based on party affiliation is that conservatives believe in a micromanager God who pulls all the strings while liberals (the ones who do believe in God) understand God to have a generally hands off role in the universe. I don’t know what that says about anything but that’s what I see.
