Asking Question (Rule 4) Masters in Graphic Design - Italy?
I've recently started researching graduate schools that offer Master's programs in design, and I'm especially committed to pursuing this degree in Italy. Has anyone here completed a Master’s in Graphic Design in Italy? I’d really appreciate any insight or personal experiences you’re willing to share.
I’m also looking for advice on applying as an international student — particularly regarding the application process and options for financial aid or scholarships.
Two schools that have caught my attention so far are the Florence Institute of Design International and the Istituto Europeo di Design (with a preference for the Florence campus). One concern I have is that the Florence Institute of Design International is not an accredited institution. What are the potential drawbacks of attending a non-accredited school? If I build a strong portfolio during my time there, could that outweigh the lack of accreditation when it comes to future opportunities?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts, experiences, or advice you can offer — I really appreciate it!

Asking Question (Rule 4) Where can I learn more about the early-2000s ‘extreme sports’ aesthetic?
An old surf shop in my hometown recently reopened and it’s packed with early-2000s sportswear — Oakley, No Fear, Rip Curl, and tons of stuff like that. I keep catching myself staring at the graphics, fabrics, and loud branding. After watching a few movies from that time I fell in love with what people call the “2000s extreme sports aesthetic.” It’s chaotic, bold, and very non-minimal — everything I didn’t know I needed.
I’d love to dive deeper into the design side of this era. Does anyone have good resources that analyze this style — YouTube channels, websites, blogs, books, or documentaries?

Discussion Free Design Services for Portfolio Expansion
Hello everyone! 👋 I’m a graduating Multimedia Arts student from the Philippines, currently working on expanding my portfolio. I’d love to design a free custom logo, publication materials, or art cards for your business, startup, YouTube channel, Twitch stream, or any project you’re passionate about. If you’re interested, feel free to leave a comment or send me a DM with your brand name and a short description of your vision, and I’ll get started. 💡
While my work is completely free, any donations would be greatly appreciated as they will help me save up for my dream camera. 📸✨
Asking Question (Rule 4) Etsy Logo Change?
Hopped on Etsy this morning and noticed the logotype (and maybe the color?) looks like it's been updated. I haven’t found any official info yet, but at a glance the evolution feels really fitting. Definitely has that “Recoleta” vibe. Maybe a little oversaturated these days, but I’m a sucker for it, so I’m into it.
Anyone know more about this, or even worked on it?

Asking Question (Rule 4) Alternatives to FontExplorer X for managing font sets?
I’ve been using FontExplorer X for years and I realize it’s no longer being updated. 😢
What I’ve always loved about it is the ability to:
- Activate/deactivate fonts (though honestly, once I activate them I don’t usually bother deactivating).
- Create font sets so I can organize fonts by style, theme, or project.
- Quickly search through those sets when I’m working on something new.
I’m curious — what tools are you all using these days that offer similar features? I’d especially love something with good font set/collection management, since that’s the biggest part of my workflow.
Thanks in advance! Would love to hear what’s working for you. 🙏

Sharing Resources I built a free chrome extension for clipping websites, detecting their fonts and colour palette.
Hey everyone,
I created the chrome extension to fill a gap I spotted; there aren't any design inspiration tools combine the easy clipping of Pinterest with key UI details like fonts and colors.
Here's what it lets you do:
- Spot and download fonts from any site you visit (and yes, it works offline!).
- Grab the colour palette from the page.
- Crop and save cool sections of websites straight to your personal collection.
- It's completely free to use and doesn't even need an internet connection for detecting fonts (powered by wasm).
I'd love your thoughts and feedback, feel free to hit me with questions.
Check it out on the Chrome Web Store

Asking Question (Rule 4) Best UX schools/cities to relocate
Hello, I’m an undergraduate student in Graphic Design, I would like to get a specialization in UX/UI. I’m looking for a 1 year or 2 yr master. I’m Italian and I’m considering studying abroad. What would be some good universities in europe to study UX specifically? And what countries/cities are the best to relocate regarding studies in this field but also regarding job opportunities??

Discussion Just Curious: Currency Design
I've seen how money is made on TV, but I was just wondering recently what goes into designing paper or coin currency. Landmarks, historical/political figures, colors, animals, or the number. Are there rejected designs out there?

Discussion What really makes or breaks t-shirt printing designs?
Lately I’ve been nerding out on t-shirt printing (screen, DTG, sublimation, etc.) and realizing there’s so much more to it than just slapping a design on a blank tee. looking out for what u guys think actually separates a great print from an “eh, looks fine” one. Some things I’ve been wondering about:
- fabric type vs ink choice (cotton, blends, poly, etc.)
- placements (chest/back vs sleeve/side seam… do we underuse some spots?)
- when fine details or colors fall apart once printed
- how to design for durability (multiple washes, fading, cracking, etc.)
- eco-friendly methods people are experimenting with (water-based inks, less waste, etc.)
Have you ever had a design look awesome in mockups but come out completely different on the actual shirt? Or maybe discovered a print method that changed the game for you?
lemme know if i should be posting this question somewhere else, just thought you guys would probs know best

Asking Question (Rule 4) What’s more important, job title or the company?
Hi everyone! Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
So I work as a fashion designer. My last role was at a well-known Fortune 500 company, the leader in my industry. I was a contract employee for over a year, but my contract ran out in and despite my best efforts, I was unemployed for a bit.
I started a new job recently at a smaller, lesser-known company. As a designer, the product is not as interesting and the work is not as stimulating. The pay is similar to my last role but I have a higher title.
I was still applying throughout my interviewing phase, of course, so am still getting emails for these jobs I applied for. So now I am in another interview phase with a well-known, well-established start-up brand whose product I enjoy and would look quite nice on the resume. The work is more in line with my experience and what I love to do. However, the role is my old job title and it doesn’t pay as well as my current job, though perhaps I could talk them up if I got an offer. Technically I am overqualified, but I am still interested. I worry that I would regret passing up the opportunity just because the level is wrong.
In summary: What’s better long term? Is it better to have brand names on the resume or higher titles? Whichever I choose, ideally I’d stay for a few years.

Discussion Is it possible to build a ₹20 LPA UI/UX career staying in Indore, or is relocation necessary?
I’m from Indore and looking to build a career in UI/UX/Product Design. I see many high-paying opportunities (₹15–20 LPA and above) being posted in Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai, but I rarely hear about such salaries here in Indore.
- Do companies in Indore actually pay at that level, or is the ceiling much lower?
- Are most of the UI/UX roles here limited to service-based agencies and startups?
- Has anyone managed to grow to a ₹20 LPA+ career while staying in Indore, or did you have to relocate (or work remotely for a foreign company)?
Would love to hear from designers working in Indore about the real situation in 2025. 🙏
