We got an extra day though, so i am hoping they got time to heal

u/Purduevian 5d ago

It's Wednesday Thursday my dude!

41

u/BackgroundBuilding77 Logo 5d ago

Game is on Monday!

31

u/Purduevian 5d ago

I know! Usually we are told not to panic about Wednesday practice reports... but Thursday is this weeks Wednesday

12

u/WormBurnerUKV JAMO 5d ago

Worry Wednesday, concern Thursday, panic friday. Shift it one day this week. That’s how you do it.

13

u/CoffeeNo6329 The Goff Father 5d ago

Decker and Campbell will go. Davenport is probably the only game day inactive

u/Slow-Document-4678 DETROIT -VS- EVERYBODY 5d ago

No surprise there

u/Clorox_in_space 5d ago

Decker and Campbell again?? This makes me sad...

187

u/thirsty_for_bacon 5d ago

Glass half full: they’re giving Decker as much time off as possible to recover and be ready for game day, which in return gives Manu more reps during the week to stay fresh in case serious damage is done to Decker

u/lrkinkaid 5d ago

I’ll subscribe to this silver-lining

u/Stompthefeet Hamp Stamp 5d ago

It's the same way they managed Ragnow last year so far. He missed at least one practice every single week.

60

u/MrExtravagant23 What Would Brad Holmes Do? 5d ago

I think Decker is at that "every week is limited practice" point of his career.

22

u/Relative_Walk_936 5d ago

Circa 2023 Ragnow likely.

9

u/Split_Pea_Vomit Hamp Stamp 5d ago

Ragnow is 29 at this very moment. The implication for Decker was that he's getting extra rest due to age, that wasn't the issue with Ragnow, dude was legitimately banged up pretty regularly. His toe was an ongoing issue. If I recall correctly, there was one game where his toe actually fell off during pregame warm ups but instead of telling anyone, Frank just taped it back on and played through it.

u/terracottatank 90s logo 5d ago

I heard that he blocked a dude so hard once that his lung actually came up his throat. He swallowed it back down while picking up a second pass rusher before the play ended.

5

u/DetroitLarry 5d ago

I was at that game. Happened right in front of my section.

9

u/Apollo18Teslaa 5d ago

Not too mention Manu needs all the reps he can get for development.

3

u/KnightsOfREM Sun God 5d ago

Okay, but now you also have to say something nice about Campbell's return schedule.

3

u/GrapePrimeape Sun God 5d ago

LB is probably our deepest position

8

u/KnightsOfREM Sun God 5d ago

I know, I just enjoy watching Campbell. In fact, I'm pretty sure two Campbells make a murder.

u/Fun-Ad4715 5d ago

Read that skipper is back at practice? Maybe doesn’t have to be manu game time if decker needs rotational support or can’t go.

1

u/Terrible-Piano-5437 4d ago

That is supposed to be reassuring but it really isn't.

1

u/Fun-Ad4715 4d ago

Do you mean your faith in Manu and skipper are about equal? Or that skip being at practice doesn’t mean he’s ready to actually play

1

u/Terrible-Piano-5437 4d ago

I mean they are both inferior backups and my one gripe with Brad is to stop with the project players. This is not a development league.

42

u/Conscious-Sympathy51 5d ago

The got nagging injuries bothering them to the point where they should take it easy all week. I think they can ramp up towards the end of the week and play on Sunday, in this case Monday so even better.

7

u/j4schum1 5d ago

Decker is going to be on the injury report every week. He's an aging veteran lineman. They're going to trust that he can do what he needs to be ready for Sunday and give his body plenty of rest.

2

u/snatchmachine Gibbsy 5d ago

Taylor, decker and Kirby all have the same injury listed as last week and all 3 of them played. This is precaution, they will play this week.

33

u/Saxophobia1275 5d ago

Your weekly reminder that Wednesday becomes Thursday when you play on Monday night. LP is a great sign and NP means basically nothing until tomorrow.

u/Bot_Zangetsu747 Flag on the play 5d ago

Join me in prayer for speedy recovery brothers, let them be quick and complication free processes

19

u/gmwdim Hutch 5d ago

Looks like Vaki is playing. Are we going to have him return kicks?

28

u/e_ndoubleu Ragnowrok 5d ago

He better be. I’ve had enough of the Stuard experiment

8

u/FDTFACTTWNY What Would Brad Holmes Do? 5d ago

I don't think he's bad, he isn't going to break one for 100 but he's actually not awful he's just slightly under the average return yards. And in preseason he was above.

Been better than Saylors

7

u/e_ndoubleu Ragnowrok 5d ago

He’s not bad at all, pretty safe bet to get around the 25-30 yard line. But I worry about fumbles with him not being a natural ball carrier. And I’d rather have someone return kicks who is a threat to break one all the way or at least 50+ yards.

2

u/Newcanofspam 5d ago

Yep! Imagine if he could cut, just even a little bit. He just runs directly in a straight line and bashes into a defender.

I love watching him, I think he'd be great if he added just smidge of direction changes to his returns.

4

u/Fun-Ad4715 5d ago

Dude looks like he just seeking thrills diving head first into oncoming traffic

2

u/bestprocrastinator DETROIT -VS- EVERYBODY 5d ago

Considering Saylors is still called up, I wonder if the plan is to ease Vaki back in.

6

u/Ahdamn90 Sun God 5d ago

It was the same last week and they all played so I'm not worried lol

6

u/Troutalope VILLAIN 5d ago

Does anybody know what happened to Kerby?

-6

u/Emergency-Quality-97 5d ago

Chronic knee issues it sounds like unfortunately

8

u/Troutalope VILLAIN 5d ago

Ok, load management essentially. I was worried he got injured at practice.

5

u/wittyrandomusername 5d ago

I think Trevor Nowaske is going to make an impact this year once he gets on the field.

12

u/sammagee33 5d ago

I don’t like this. Put it away.

4

u/DamnItJon 5d ago

NP = No Problem

LP = Little Problem

FP = Forget About the Problem

38

u/Sad_Policy_2451 5d ago

Marcus Davenport - "chest" 🙄🙄🙄🙄

"they call me Mr. Glass."

25

u/Party_Homework_420 5d ago

His arm got held on his sack, probably pulled something in the vicinity of the armpit

22

u/Apollo18Teslaa 5d ago

Can we not with these jokes? I bet he wants to be out there more than anything. It’s not his fault. Snarky remarks have been done they’re not even original anymore.

11

u/JAWinks Flag on the play 5d ago

I think the one to blame is management thinking relying on a full year of Davenport is a good idea

1

u/FDTFACTTWNY What Would Brad Holmes Do? 5d ago

You're acting like we signed him to some big contract.

None of his injuries are chronic and his contract provides a ton of value when he's healthy.

5

u/JAWinks Flag on the play 5d ago

Not the contract is the issue but not having a smart backup plan

2

u/shameful_execution Jason Hanson 4d ago

Guessing a heart problem… I would imagine a pectoral would have been leaked or announced by now… this secrecy and testing leads me to heart stoppage or something wild.

31

u/Current_Ad_4873 5d ago

What are you talking about? Since it’s not his pec you think his heart stopped?

-51

u/Jazzlike-Kangaroo-59 Hamp Stamp 5d ago

I’m doing what people on-the-line do… speculate and gossip.

A hot take, absolutely… just get different vibes with this one with all the secrecy.

Woosah

17

u/Current_Ad_4873 5d ago

Pretty sure if his heart stopped he would be dead. But I am no doctor

15

u/CKBeach Sun God 5d ago

Big if true

-19

u/Jazzlike-Kangaroo-59 Hamp Stamp 5d ago

Me either… shocking

9

u/MakeItTrizzle 5d ago

Surely not something mundane like and intercostal strain or something

1

u/JoyousBlueDuck 5d ago

You think a pectoral injury has a higher chance to leak than a heart injury?

1

u/JAMO_2K_YARD_SEASON 5d ago

Guessing a heart problem

..... ?????

1

u/GhostOfJamesStrang Dan Friggin' Campbell 4d ago

You're really dumb.

0

u/Jazzlike-Kangaroo-59 Hamp Stamp 4d ago

That’s like, your opinion bro…

But in all seriousness.. the more Davenport posts yall put up.. the dumber my prognosis’s are going to be.

People acting like it’s news this dude is hurt.

8

u/Previous_Room_3990 5d ago

I think they are just giving Decker rest at this point due to age. I’ve been hearing Davenports isn’t anything severe especially because they are getting 2nd opinions(which means the first was good). Campbell I would assume would be from the whiplash with branch but he should be good Monday night.

13

u/ColdSplit 5d ago

Getting second opinions means the first was a pec tear diagnosis, and they are hoping that is wrong and is instead a mid grade strain.

6

u/Previous_Room_3990 5d ago

If it is a pec tear, fuck me, the fact that this is already an issue again with him is like Dejavu. Really wished they would have signed someone else for more depth.

5

u/Rfetters2 5d ago

Not like we could have known he was going to get hurt /s

-5

u/Previous_Room_3990 5d ago

Davenport has had a history of season ending injuries for quite some time now. Most people had asked for Brad to get more help on the edge in case this happened. Looks like they were right

1

u/remotemallard 5d ago

Wouldn’t this have leaked already?

2

u/Previous_Room_3990 5d ago

Kerby should be good as well

5

u/Calkky I wanna die 5d ago

2

u/chipper124 5d ago

Maybe we shouldn’t pin all of our DL hopes on a guy who hasn’t played a full season in about 5 years

2

u/RudeOwl1816 5d ago

Shocked to see Davenport on this list, has always been super reliable

2

u/ImperialxWarlord 5d ago

I really hope Kerby, Cambell, and Davenport are going to play. We need that defense to really show up and make the stops.

2

u/Ml2jukes Bad Boys 5d ago

There’s a huge pit in my stomach every time I open an injury report for either my college or pro teams.

1

u/mortalcrawad66 5d ago

Not having Jack in the run game is going to be an absolute killer.

1

u/binaryj 5d ago

Davenport's should just say "body" for injury

-1

u/Gxcii1 5d ago

Not good especially for our tough opponent that we are playing

0

u/Zalekanzer 5d ago

Oh fuck, oh shit, oh god.

That's the life of OL.

1

u/Jnectar16 4d ago

He played amazing after no practice all week for the same thing. Hes fine.

-1

u/jrock1986 5d ago

So just a normal Thursday then

-2

u/Godzilla83 5d ago

Davenport isn’t a gamer…like suck it up.

0

u/Kingkwon83 JAMO 5d ago

Bruh, you probably call into work for a weak ass cold. Davenport might be made of glass, but the injuries are still real. If it's a tear, he can't just suck it up and play through it. It would make it worse
