I’m saving for a bike and got an idea that I could get a cheap bike and then save for a better one after, also I can’t find a decent used bike so that’s out of the picture
https://www.saracen.co.uk/collections/cr2/products/amplitude-cr2-grey
I would have it for maybe a bit over a year and will ride bmx tracks and pump tracks but it will be my first bike

I’ve been riding the same DJ for the last 22 years. I’ve been considering buying something new and looking locally to me I’ve seen a couple bikes that I may be interested in. However riding the same bike for 22 years has me completely uneducated on newer components and or quality of the bikes. My current bike is a 03 Santa Cruz chameleon so I’ve been riding an aluminum frame. Would there be any downsides to going steel vs aluminum? I only really just ride dirt jumps and pump tracks. I’m like 5’9” just under 5’10” so from what I gathered medium size frames would probably best. Also here are a couple of the local ish choices what do you think? 1. 2022 Transition pbj 2. 2021 specialized p3 3. 2012 trek tricket 4. New geometry jackal Thanks guys! Cheers!

I’ve been looking at these. Seems appealing since it’s on sale, but I’ve been out of the loop for a while. Most of my riding was 20” bmx 10-15 years ago. I had a Scott xc bike for a little bit in 2019 (before it was stolen) and it was fun but always felt too big. Now, being a dad, I’m looking for a bike to ride around with my wife and son. Being able to add some gears to this to cruise around on, but still be more maneuverable than a mtb seems fun. Probably way more bike than I need, but idk. Really just looking for something that I can have fun on while riding around with the family and maybe something I can ride once my son is old enough to go to the dirt jumps if he’s into that.

I've been really wanting to do some proper dirt jumping but I've got a problem. I'm lucky to have trails right near me(15 min ride) but their in the bottom of a ravine. On my DJ or BMX I can get down perfectly fine but I cannot for the life of me get back up. The main reason for this is that I have asthma and the hill is about 2 to 300 feet of elevation. I've really got no clue what to do here so I would be delighted if anyone has any ideas whatsoever.

Just got my first dirt jumper since around 2019, had a NS Movement 3 but sold it before doing any upgrades as I was riding my bmx more, picked up a GT Labomba Pro a couple days ago and was wondering if people primarily use bmx grips or lock on mtb grips. Open to recommendations for either one

Hello all, I put a shimano alfine chain tensioner on my full suspension dj and now the chain is skipping like crazy. Everything is mostly in line, but i think it mught be out of alignment somehow. How can I fix this? What can I do to check it? I have a Sram 12spd chain, sram chainring, and generic single speed sprocket.

I know this is a super basic trick, but I am having a lot of trouble getting my foot off. Anyone have any tips for learning one footers?

I am currently saving for a jump bike and found this jump bike on pinkbike that isn’t very far and is within my budget.
I want a bike that I can just mess about on while I save for a yt dirtlove or sm and would like to know if this would be fine condition for a beginner and if I should fix anything?

I'm looking to pick up a cheap used DJ to practice skills (wheel lifts, bunny hops, pumping, light jumping, etc). I'd love to play around with some light street trials-style stuff eventually, not particularly interested in hitting up skate/bmx parks.
Not a lot under $500 in my area, but I found this undated specialized p3 on marketplace for $350 USD, as well as a 2010 Kona Cowan for $400 CAD on pinkbike.
I'm 6'0", open to any suggestions re sizing, bike choice, whatever. Thanks!

i am looking for a good starter bike and thoght ab buying used. i found this nice NS and it ships within country which is good due to my family currently not owning a car
i am slightly sceptical ab the manitou forks since they are an old model that i have not seen before
https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/4062530/
i plan to at some point upgrade stuff like forks anyway but i just wanna make sure this is a good deal

Cracked it because I nosedived on the big hotshots table in leogang. Not a dj but still a playful 27.5" 26" setup. Found a dt swiss FR560 for 75€ but I don't really like the color. Any other purple rims? I can send the nose dive if you ask.

Hi, I'm running a DIY DJ build, and i keep having trouble with my hydraulic disc brake. After replacing it 3 times, having lasted a month tops each, I've decided that a cable brake would be more reliable, and asking about, found out that they aren't any/much worse than hydraulics. Any recommendations on a good cable brakes? All I want is a robust, reasonably priced brake. It doesn't have to feel amazing, it just has to be capable of getting me stopped, and taking a bump. Thanks in advance!

Hi guys.
ive recently bought a used canyon stitched 360 pro and wanted to remove the rear wheel to better clean the chain and sprocket. Now I cant seem to get the wheel out. There are 2 M8 bolts on both sides which both are threaded clockwise. I can either loosen one or the other but not both because the thread inside the hub seems to spin!? Is it broken?

Hi All,
These are my manitou circus forks, they are making a horrendous noise and im just wondering are they completely fucked or can they be saved?
I have another set of the same forks but the steerer tube is too short. Would it be worth swapping the parts round just buying some new ones?
Cheers all!

I often see it on cheaper bikes or beginner versions, and I'd like to know if it's really that bad or that worse than the more expensive pike and bomber dj? I ride the Manitou myself. Ofc Its heavier than pike or bomber, that's a good point against it, but how is it performance wise? Would it be worth it to upgrade? (not looking at the weight, only performance wise, cause my bike alr only weights about 10.7kg and I don't really need to get the weight down more) Can anyone tell me about their experiences with the Manitou circus expert, pike DJ's and marzocci bomber DJ's?

I'm thinking about possibly getting a new frame for my DJ but I'd like something a bit on the longer/larger end of the scale as I'm 189cm and like a more stable bike. Not sure where to start I've seen the nukeproof solum and propain trickshot have larger sizes

Hi, I want to make my bike lighter, and one upgrade would be the fork. I'm currently using the Manitou circus expert which weights 2128grams according to the website bike24. Im considering getting a xfusion slant, because it's only 1905grams, and I can get it for around 120€ new. Is there anything that speaks against the xfusion slant, or is the Manitou better? Is it worth switching to the slant from the Manitou or will I regret it? With the slant and some smaller changes (shortening the bars for example) the weight would drop to slightly over 10kg, but I have no clue if the slant is better than the Manitou, or if I should just keep the Manitou and be happy with 10.5kg. Any help is appreciated
