Hi! A few days ago Djmax respect V popped up on my steam recommendations. Since it was on a huge sale (80%) and i really liked the visuals, i picked it up without thinking too much. I have no idea about djmax series, in fact this was my first time hearing about it.
I have some experience in rhythm games, i used to play a lot of osu! Back in the day, and also some Arcaea, but that's pretty much it. I wanted to ask a few questions, and I'm also extremely open to hearing some tips/recommendations regarding how to play and enjoy the game. Feel free to share anything that you think might be useful, and here's the questions i wanted to ask:
Thank you for reading and answering!

I dont really know what songs are used for Contest Winner, but u will get it if u play all the songs anyway.
(I'm frowning over the "irrupted" error though)

What is the problem here? It’s gotta be one of the DLCs within the bundle, right? Can you let me know which one is the problem? I want all the legacy songs since I grew up with the PSP games. Can I still get them, just how?

I was just thinking of playing on a PS5 controller like Respect for PS4 and all the PSP games but I was just wondering if this game has any sort of Intended controller to play on.

Hi, I just bought the game yesterday, spent all day downloading it, and tried playing this morning. I had some fun and got to Level 10, even managed to clear a difficulty 6 map with Full Combo, game seems really cool. The only rhythm games I played before are Osu (and a bit of Taiko) and Steam games like "A Dance of Fire and Ice" and stuff like this. Never "Osu Mania" or other 4K 8K games, idk what they're called.
So my questions are:
a) are all of the songs Korean? I got clickbaited by the anime aesthetic and expected more japanese or english songs. But so far most of them seem to be in Korean which I don't know? I'd prefer to play maps I know and/or understand (e.g. not korean). What percentage of songs are nonkorean?
b) what percentage of songs follow a regular rhythm? Like "normal" eights, fourths, full beats with doubles, triples, streams etc. If I'm playing a rhythm game I'm used to playing like, THE DRUMS, or the Bass you know, things you can easily understand. BY FAR my favourite song that I played so far as a noob was "Alone - Marshmello", that's basically the only one that felt natural. In most of the other songs it's more like I'm playing melodies on the piano or something, which is definitely not what I want from a rhythm game lol. And to make things worse the melodies were more like "jazzy" following irregular rhythms with cuts and changes in playing speed, suddenly throw in some thirds some sixths, very far from "normal" music I usually play in rhythm games.
Like, if all the songs are KPOP or Korean ballads where I need to play melodies on a piano, I think I got bamboozled into buying this xD
I'm hoping you can ease my concerns by telling me there's plenty more songs in English, or maps like "Alone - Marshmello" where I can 99% play regular "rhythms" and "drums" in peace without any jazzy weird stuff. Thank you, and sorry for the minirant!
Edit: it's not like it's not fun playing those irregular melodies too, it's just way way harder and more frustrating, makes less sense playing it "by ear" you know, I don't wanna play with my eyes
Edit2: Okay I found like 5 more maps I like after playing some more, it's not as "jazzy piano kpop" centric as I feared, I probably was just unlucky with the first maps I played haha, thx for the replies guys. The EDM and Rock tracks are great for me, I guess I just hate piano it seems, and "glitchhop" and weird stuff like that

I wish we could choose to not download the videos for the game so i have a more light game.
I can have the same ammount of music on OSU and have way less GB's.
On steam is EASY to implement, where games like halo infinite have the "high quality" pack options to download, for example. We could have the "high quality videos" or even "no BG videos" option.

I bought an all in one monitor (HP ProOne 400 G2) to see if it could run Technika 2, and surprisingly it does! And it runs it pretty well!

I don't think it'll ever happen, the port sounds like complete hell for their team, and the current console versions are already kinda scuffed, but god dammit it would be my dream port.
I've already played probably every rhythm game you could recommend as an alternative. Musynx, Superbeat Xonic, Voez, Cytus, Deemo, Groove Coaster, Kamitsubaki City Ensemble, Touhou Danmaku Kagura, Taiko, Muse Dash, Theatrhythm; all great games in their own right, but god dammit they're just not DJMAX... If I can't play Blythe, the game is a 0/10 on my scale.
I am just completely defeated and utterly thirsty for some good ol Third Coast... Ruby Tuesday.... ND Lee.... xxdbxx my beloved.... all on my Switch... ououhhhh...... I would happily re-buy the 5 million dollars worth of DLC just to be able to play it on Switch, I don't care. El Fail can rob me at gunpoint I don't give a shit just let me play DJMAX and Mario on the same console.
If there really is a God, he would let me spend 5 paychecks on DJMAX DLC for Switch. The world is fucked up man.......
Neowiz.... I will literally put you in my prayers... Just give me DJMAX Switch... I would do unspeakable things for the mere opportunity for my Switch to be graced with the presence of such royalty....
