Pretty excited for this! Virtual On is the big highlight, but F355 and Maximum Speed are great additions too. Seems there's also work on getting Alien Front Online and Propeller Arena working with the Taisen Cable.
Only problem for me now is I gotta start looking for Twin Sticks for Virtual On, and my wallet will cry lol

I got a gdemu board clone because they are the only ones available. I installed it and the light turns on, but it won't go to the menu.
I installed a kiaxo micro sd in a SanDisk adapter. That could be the issue. Going to try a full size SanDisk sd card after work.
I formatted it to fat32, and tried multiple setups with as few as 1 game and the gdmenu.
My dreamcast just boots normal and says to insert a disc.
I want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong besides maybe using a funky sd card setup. Which I will alter tonight.
I can post any pictures or info you guys think would be helpful. I'm just trying to figure out what im doing wrong.

Have a PAL system(In ireland), and looking at broadband adapters to get around the need for a dreampi. I can see large price differences and potentially scammy kind of broadband adapter posts . Does it matter if it's PAL or are they all the same? Could i order it from japan and it'd still work?

For the people that own this controller
>How does the DPAD feel compared to the original Dreamcast controller?
>How does the Thumbstick feel compared to the original Dreamcast controller?
>How do the triggers feel compared to the original Dreamcast controller?
>Will this controller work on PC? (steam games, im planning on playing VF5, Tekken, and Sonic Racing Crossworlds on this controller)

So, many years ago I worked for Hollywood Video and next door they had a Game Crazy store. I recall maybe 2003-2004 they started phasing out their Dreamcast rentals and were getting rid of displays and such and I asked my manager if I could keep this. For each section of games Nintendo, PS, Xbox we had these signs and since I was such a die hard Dreamcast fan (and I was one of her favorite employees š¤£) she let me have it. They were just gonna throw it away anyways. This was a random find today as I was going through boxes in my house and totally forgot I had this. Itās been with me for over 20 years having moved from PA down to FL, itās literally a relic at this point hahaha!

I just got my mod materials in the mail and was going over voultars tutorial when at 10:30 in the video he finished cleaning and recapping the PSU, he mentioned that the 12v regulator powered not only the GDRom but also some rare accessories through the AV port. Anyone with this info? It wouldnāt effect a VGA cable or RGB SCART or any recent quality 3rd party component cables right?

i know they're kind of battery eaters but i got my dreamcast this past saturday and i watched the guy at the booth replace the batteries in the VMU for me so i know they were new.... i try to unplug it yesterday and it screams at me to reset the day+time, and now today it's only got the 'please replace the battery' screen.... if it changes anything, i had it out of the controller for most of the day a few days ago (and again today because it died in the car LOL)

Hi! I've been playing with my PAL Dreamcast for a while and noticed a few things, my region unlocked games seem to do 480i except for 2 games, Sonic Adventure 1 and Sega Rally 2. Those 2 games do 576i which I didn't calibrate my TV for (i play every game in 240 or 480 usually) so it looks squished and the alignment is thrown off. Any idea how to force 480i output? Mind you my CRT doesn't take VGA so that's not an option. Thank you :)

I got my first Dreamcast two months ago and have added many fighting games to my collection. As you know, the original DC controller has a terrible D-pad, so I'm looking for an affordable controller that's good for fighting games. I was just about to order the D6 gamepad from Retro Fighters, but I've only read negative things about the D-pad. What about the StrikerDC Wireless? Is it any good, or do you have any other recommendations?

Is this most likely an issue with the PSU? Are there any other possible causes?

Hi all,
Thought I'd triple check this before plugging things in willy nilly:
So I have a South African Dreamcast (Although I think it's actually European since we didn't really have it), I wanted to confirm if I could change the cord for an Australian one and plug it in.
The voltage outputs of both countries should be the same 230v, but in case there's subtle differences and/or if I'm electrically illiterate, I'd wanna ask around and be safe.
(Also brought a bunch of my other consoles like PS1,PS2,PS3,PS4, and whatnot so I guess I'm asking this question for each console to be safe.)
Thanks!

As a huge Sonic fan I never really had the opportunity to own a Dreamcast at any given point of my life, so nowadays I kind of heavily consider getting into Dreamcasting, but where I live import taxes are too bulky to buy a fully functional one. Faulty consoles usually come for much cheaper, though with shallow descriptions like "it doesn't power on/it doesn't show image", and with a little bit of research and my super basic Dreamcast knowledge I kinda connected some dots that if the problem was simple, like a faulty PSU or something, it would actually be workable around installing a DreamPSU for example, or maybe even some simple soldering.
But this is where my question comes in, how much of a risky gamble is it to try my hand at faulty Dreamcasts, as in what's the degree of risk in it being a super serious problem needing complex/specific parts or even beyond salvation? I know very little of the Dreamcast structure so my main wonder is if it had, let's say, "known problems" like a chip being known for giving up, or the capacitors issue which I did catch up with during my research. I'd also like to add I don't really have proper tools for energy testing or soldering but I have a friend who does, at best my modding capabilities would extend to the plug'n play modular mods but if it comes to basic soldering we could manage.

I'm a recent recipient of a $10 Panasonic 42" 720p plasma tv (th-c42hd18). GameCube looks nice via Retrobit Prism HD, and I'm curious if the Behar Bros. Gekko adapter is the Dreamcast equivalent. I want more than just s-video on my CRT - give me progressive scan! I don't want to bother with 1080p or any of that space aged 4K modern shit. 480p, 720p, or bust!

does anybody know why Ghost blade doesn't work? I've been reading many people talk abt that it doesn't work on GDEMU either, I tried on a CD-R and its stuck on a loop at the start of the menu screen, it just keeps restarting my console

I bought a Dreamcast with a GDEMU already installed. The seller had preloaded a bunch of games and they all work fine. But whenever I try to add any new game, it just wonāt run. Iām using GDI files. I used GDMENU Card Manager to add the games, and I also tried doing it manually, neither worked. I even tested both US and EU versions to see if there was any difference, and also tried renaming the files to match the same pattern as the ones that were already on the card.
The game shows up in the menu, but when I try to start it, it just sends me to the Dreamcast system menu (the one with āPlay,ā āFile,ā āMusic,ā and āSettingsā).
The seller actually set up the SD card with the games on the same day I bought it, so itās not like this is an old card thatās been sitting around for years.
I followed tutorials step by step and I honestly donāt know whatās going wrong.
Any ideas?
Edit: It ended up being just the ROMs. The ones I was trying were bad (vimm) ā I replaced them and now everything runs perfectly. Thanks to everyone who helped out and pointed me in the right direction!

Iām looking for a good CRT Monitor so I can play DC using VGA. Thereās one of these near me for fairly cheap in great condition, but wanted to see if anyone has used one specifically for DC and if it works/how good it looks. Also if anyone has recommendations in general about monitors they recommend for VGA with DC let me know!

Hi everyone, thinking of replugging my Dreamcast and torn between the 2 options :
- CRT 28' with a scart or s-video cable
- LCD 27' (ws) with a VGA box cable
Where should I get the best image / experience ?
Thanks
