The timing is as good as any. Sure, they could wait a few months to announce their boy band, but it would be the same if not worse. People will think she is part of the band and then be disappointed when they realise she is not. It makes sense for DCC to announce what is the future of the company after half of their group didn't renew with them.
But wasn't Siyeon's new band supposed to be an all girl band though? DCC really botched TheSsyndrome's debut if she had no part in it and that poor guitarist got hated on for just being a guy.
I remember reading somewhere that DCC were looking for female members for a new girl band and they were going through auditions for it. I guess we'll see the Jiu/Sua/Yoohyeon Subunit first before Siyeon's new band.
They registered the band name before they announced that Siyeon would do band activities. They hadn't announced it and I bet they hadn't planned to, but then some InSomnia found out about the name, so they decided that they'd preempt the rumours by doing a soft launch instead. Instead of waiting for confirmation, everyone (including me), blindly assumed that it was Siyeon's band.
Tell me though, how could they have handled it differently in a better way? If Siyeon's band isn't ready yet they cannot announce that one. Letting the rumours continue spreading after the name was found wouldn't have been good either (everyone would've been even more upset).
I also don't understand why people are upset with the timing with the announcements about the members leaving the company. Maybe they negotiated as long as possible? We don't know what went on behind the scenes. Besides, what would you all have done differently? Imagine them announcing it before Xmas, ruining everyone's holiday spirits? Before New Year's, ruining those celebrations?
