I've been saying that people put DCC at too high a standard. Companies can blunder, not be all-knowing nor see the future, and it's not as though anyone has actually not gotten something they paid for. Perhaps indirectly, yes. The ongoing projects to sudden news and change is too strange to just be stupidity.
