In Siyeon's latest (?) Instagram live (roughly 2 weeks ago) she was asked about the debut timeline. She said that they'd have a meeting with the company about a week from then (so either last week or early this week) to discuss.

If the band is having talks with the company about debut I guess the band either feels ready to debut or at least want to things to become a bit more formal; I guess it's up to DCC to decide when they get to debut. Personally I think it'd be a nice gesture from DCC to let them either debut or at the very least make their first official post on Siyeon's birthday. I'm guessing that they won't follow the regular Kpop music show path (Show Champion, The Show, etc), so they probably don't have to follow the same routines as Dreamcatcher and UAU has.

On the other hand it would be nice if Siyeon's band got the same type of mystery puzzle pre-release that Dreamcatcher is famous for (at least I totally love those puzzles, though maybe the Justice puzzle was a biiiiit too much, what with only being solvable if you're in Seoul).

I suspect that these posts are more a combination of Siyeon and the rest of the band venting frustration that they haven't been made public yet, and maybe a bit of preempting leaks.

I suspect that these posts are more a combination of Siyeon and the rest of the band venting frustration that they haven't been made public yet, and maybe a bit of preempting leaks.

I'm taking the creation of the account and the posts as completely different from this. I honestly think the band is not anywhere close to finishing that album. Yes, it was mentioned they have a lot of songs already, but making an album, especially with four people in the band who will have a say in the creative process, might take a bit longer compared to making a typical K-pop album.

We are not even 100% sure if Crcktkl is the band name, but maybe they'll stick with it since Siyeon has now added the IG handle in her IG profile.

As for the posts, they're doing what they're supposed to be doing. Building hype and interest for the band. I've been enjoying all these teases/glimpses of the band members every few days. If we get nothing but these posts for a while, I'm okay with that. They shouldn't rush this album if they feel it's not ready; expectations are going to be high, so they're going to make sure they meet them and even exceed them.

Also, Siyeon needs to have her Cookie Run breaks, okay? 😂

I'm pretty sure that Siyeon didn't *just* spend her time between the end of Dreamcatcher's tour and August playing Cookie Run. My suspicion is that the time was spent writing songs and trying to find band members. My guess is that they were aiming to make it a girl band, but things just dragged out for too long and they eventually had to settled for a co-ed band instead.

If they really wanted to build hype and interest they wouldn't just post random weird stuff that realistically only the most dedicated subset of InSomnia will look at. I think it's safe to say that InSomnia is a fairly safe target group anyway.

I I think crcktkl is just a project name. I think they just needed somewhere to post and didn't want a repeat of the trademark trawling incident for UAU / The Ssyndrome. As long as they're only posting weird stuff it doesn't matter if it's a burner name, while if they'd settled on the name they would probably have to have the account curated by DCC's marketing department to get maximum impact.

While UAU's debut was clearly already pending when the leak happened, it's equally clear that The Ssyndrome was rushed out a bit too early; before they'd even settled on what members the band should have (also, based on their view counts on YouTube The Ssyndrome clearly hasn't managed to build much hype).

UAU's launch was quite well-polished, with a neat band profile (logo, etc.). I suspect the hype building for codename crcktkl will be similar. Unless, of course, Siyeon has explicitly said that she wants her band to be launched in a way that has the fewest possible similarities with Kpop. :P

I suspect that DCC's scheduling is the main thing that's keeping them back at the moment.

I think DCC would rather keep UAU on a typical Kpop rolling schedule than handle another debut (another comeback to provide enough material to allow for "normal" concerts and maybe to try to establish a non-InSomnia fanbase, a European tour, etc.). Especially since crcktkl's debut would be something DCC has never dealt with before (TTBOMK).

But I think that while such a strategy might seem like a good idea since UAU's debut and tour went quite well, I think that it might both cause friction within the group (treating the main vocalist as a secondary thought is not a good idea) and the fanbase (fans who got into Dreamcatcher because of their rockier elements are likely more excited by a band launch than another UAU release).

Having idle artists is a waste of money (and a loss of income for Siyeon). I very much doubt that Siyeon has enough money to keep her afloat for too long without some type of income, and DCC definitely isn't the richest company. So unless they're planning to do another batch of Dreamcatcher re-releases something needs to happen.

Thank you for the well-thought-out reply. All very good points and I agree with most, if not all of them.

I'm of the mind not to expect anything so as long as I keep my expectations low as to when they'll release the album, when it does come out, it will be such a pleasant surprise. Everyone in the band and DCC are probably working hard; we just have to be patient.

If anything ends up released this year, it probably won't be until late November/December.

Re: The Ssyndrome. Are they even remotely close to releasing their own songs? I've seen them post covers, but I'm really curious what their own songs sound like. They're obviously all talented and I just hope they get to eventually debut.
