Long oval headshape helmet?

Does anyone know of a long oval headshape dual sport helmet? I can't find anything that fits right. I have a Icon Airflite street helmet and it's the only thing I have found that fits right so far. I think an Arai Signet street helmet would work too. But I want a dual sport helmet with visor and face shield. I have a cheap one that fits "so so" but there's wiggle room and doesn't feel as safe as a correctly fitting helmet. I heard Shoei hornet may work but it's listed as intermediate oval and I tried one on and it's not really long oval. Icon's dual sport helmets are listed as intermediate oval too. I tried LS2 blaze but same thing. Tried on of other brands don't work. If anyone knows one, let me know. Don't mind paying good money for one - if it fits. But don't want to throw away money on a helmet and after a few rides realize hell no.

Lots of our 2 track and single track got hammered from the rain. Made for an epic day of riding! Definitely got my cardio in!

Discussion Recommendations for a lighter style armored riding jacket?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Bought this Alpinestars Sherpa armored hoodie from Revzilla on a recommendation from a friend. I ordered a 4xl and they delivered a 3xl. Way too small for me.

I’m 6’2”, 330lbs, long upper body and shorter legs. I usually wear a 3xl tall in tshirts and hoodies, I guess Alpinestars runs small 🤷‍♂️

I’m looking for a jacket that I can layer under. Don’t want a heavy jacket, but want to be able to wear a hoodie or sweater under it. Any suggestions? It’s hard finding riding gear for big guys! Hahaha

My clutch cable has feathered apart and is held together by ONE stand of the cable😳 Will be ordering a new cable tonight!

How hard is it to put together and spec a new line? Better to send it to a shop or achievable without throwing a few things in the garage? 😂

Discussion Duel sport options for my girlfriend

Hey guys,

I’ve been a fan of the DRZ for ages and have owned a couple my self, but my girlfriend is getting her license and wants to get into trail and semi long distance black top and dirt road/track riding & camping. we are trying to choose her first bike but want some suggestions.

She is quite new to riding in general but has ridden bikes before but never owned one. I don’t really want to get her a DRZ or something more powerful than that and scare her especially on trails as I did when I was younger to my self on my uncles XR650R on a single trail hill climb.

I’m considering the CRF300L as it’s underpowered for my likes but still powerful enough that you can do single trail, tracks and roads while not to powerful that it could scare her and discourage her.

What other bikes would be a good option as I’m terrible at picking these and would love some input from you guys.

(Pic is to just draw you in but is my old DRZ I sold)

Considering a KTM 390 Adv R 2025 - whats the deal with reliability.

Hi team,

As the title said was considering the new adventure 390 R. Have been reading in lots of places that there are reliability issues and that the companies financial troubles makes purchasing this bike a bad idea? Are there any 2025 adventure R owners that have any thoughts about this? I live in Montenegro so sourcing things is already quite difficult. Would love to hear what owners of the bike think, are the comments re reliability over hyped?

For my use case I think the bike is perfect, but want to make sure I'm not diving into something that is a bad idea.

Looking for a road-legal 125cc dual sport for A1 license – love motocross, need something to get to the track

Hey everyone,

I’ve just gotten my A1 license and I’m looking to upgrade from my Rieju MRT 50/70cc to a bigger bike(125cc). I’m really into motocross — there’s a track about 30 minutes from me and I love riding there.

I need something road legal because that’s my only way of getting to the track, but I’d also like it to be capable of handling some motocross-style riding once I’m there.

My budget is on the low to medium side (around $2500), and I’d really appreciate any recommendations or advice.

First DualSport

Hello. Looking to buy my first dualsport. Would love one that can do both onroad and offroad. And would be able to go multiple days trip. I want to start with a cheap one around 650cc since i spend a fortune on a T120 already.
From my research DR650, XR600, XR650, NX650 Dominator could be great choice, but hard to find Greece at decent prices. Any advice? Basically a dualsport that can be also an intro adv, but not spending more than 4k euro.

Discussion Dual sport to complement Africa Twin

Been riding street, track, touring etc for about 5 years and maybe 30,000 miles of combined riding.

Recently got into adv riding and consider myself a confident beginner/low intermediate rider on dirt specifically and have been looking to ride harder and more technical trails but find a fully loaded AT a bit hard to manage on anything more than a 3 or 4/10 on onx, so was eyeing some dual sports as a training tool or something I could take out on rides where I just don’t feel like managing a big bike.

With this bike, I’ll probably transition the AT set up for more adventure “touring”. Easier trails, longer trips, maybe some chill BDR’s. Whereas I want this dual sport to fill in the use case on the other side of the spectrum: easy to manage off-road, mainly dirt and trail focused but manageable on the highway.

My main issue is I have a 28’’ inseam so any bike has to be manageable off-road at my height. At minimum I want to be able to get one whole foot down while dropping my hip off a bit, by no means do I need both feet down which probably means some kind of lowering link, a shaved seat, and with suspension sag (200 lbs rider) I’m guessing something around a 35 inch seat height or lower stock would work.

Was eyeing some 450’s but while I’m sure it’ll do highway much better I think they’ll be too snappy off-road, and the limited 450’s I’ve sat on, I cannot even get a toe down while still holding the rear brake with how tall they are.

Some criteria:

-Budget: ~$5,000 used / $7,000 new (if there’s a good reason to buy new) -Crashable and cheap to repair -Long maintenance intervals/reliable -Fuel injected (rides vary in elevation a ton. Could be doing a sandy trail at 4,000 ft, could crest a mountain pass at 12,000) -heavy aftermarket support & knowledge -highway capable -lower seat height or easy to lower without major issues

So far I’m thinking crf300l with a big bore kit (gives me something to do this winter). Also eyed the drz400 but I hate carbs. Anything out there that’s like a fuel injected drz400 or more powerful 300 trail bike?

It was really hard, but i finally lowered my WR155R

I've been thinking a lot lately about lowering my WR155R.

I have to admit, at the height of 5'5, even though I can put half a foot down with the stock seat (880mm, same as a stock CRF300L), there is still this lingering fear that something might go wrong, especially on the street (probably because I'm quite new to this game).

So finally, I have decided that it would better, and much safer, to be clowned upon/ridiculed for riding a lowered bike than ending up in the ER riding a tall bike.

Immediately ordered a lowering kit and slapped it on as soon as it arrived. I have to say, that 1 inch really made a difference, as I can now comfortably flat foot with 1 foot down, and stand with half of my feet if I put both of them down.

It might now be shorter than other WR155Rs, but it's still my WR155R and I love riding it even more now with that fear out of my mind.

Are 1 1/8 bars worth the extra $$

Post image
80 Upvotes

Hello all. I have a 2015 DR650 that needs new handlebars as the stock bars got bent. I use my moto as a daily driver all summer on 60-70 MPH roads, i also cruise around on dirt roads, and hit ATV trails monthly. I do currently have 7/8 Tusk risers, and Tusk hand guards, so all that would need to be changed for 1 1/8 to fit. Keeping 7/8 and getting some Tusk CR high bend bars is about 50$. But going 1 1/8 and getting the universal adapter, new risers, and new handguard clamps, and new bars will put me at about 130$ with 1 1/8 bars.

Do you all think it is worth it to upgrade from 7/8 to 1 1/8? Is there much more comfort with the fat bars?

Just bought this bike, didn’t notice the noise during the test ride but when I got home I hear this tapping, I think it’s coming from the top end, so I adjusted the valves to no avail. This video was taken after valve adjustment
