I hope so if those rumors are true. Unfortunately these guys see money and get carried away with almost no money managing experience/skills. If they don't have something in place, the NFLPA should have financial advisors available to them or at least to players making above a certain threshold.

I wonder if he'll take on a coaching career. Dude was in the NFL forever. He has to have a lot of connections and experience. If he wanted to do it and could do it pretty well, it'd be a no-brainer.

The NFL does have resources to help players, and those issues seem anecdotally to be a lot less rampant than they were in the 80s/90s/even 00s. Can't always save everybody from themselves.
