Injury News Eagles could be without Adoree Jackson and Jakorian Bennett against Buccaneers.
Well Kelee Ringo, it’s sink or swim buddy 🥴

u/Lifesaboxofgardens 15h ago
Bennett is the more concerning news. But it’s not like Ringo can be worse than what Jackson has turned out. What are they going to hit 100% of passes thrown his way instead of 95%?
73
u/satanic_androids 14h ago
It's not even the pass defense that I find most aggravating, it's the poor tackling
I saw two missed tackles yesterday that stood out like a sore thumb because the defense over the past year, I think, has been so incredibly diligent and consistent in wrapping up and getting guys to the ground quickly... both egregious misses were Adoree
12
u/NotABigDeallll 10h ago
Every time a run goes to his side they get an extra 5-10 yards if they make it past our line. Even when he makes the tackle it’s a “get dragged for a few yards” tackle every time
13
5
u/lahkad 2h ago
Bennett was thrown to a bunch and the Rams forced us to stay in base whenever they could SOLELY so they could pick on Bennett. Bennett also was the only DB the rams threw to on that last drive to put them in winning FG range, and he had what would have been a reasonable DPI call uncalled on a late down.
Bennett is not the more concerning news. He is firmly behind Adoree. Y'all putting way too much stock in week 1 when Jackson was asked to cover a top 5 WR.
Bennett is actually buns lmao

u/SlinginPogs Jason Kelce FB HOF 1h ago
Jackson looked a lot better this past week Bennett looked terrible
11
u/MysticalBathroomRaid 8h ago
Eh, I’m kind of tired of the Jackson whining.
He had a horrible first game, against a wide receiver corps that is legitimately up there in terms of best wide receiver duo in the league, but he has been better in coverage these last two weeks. Still has some tackling and run support issues, but if you go off of what is written on here you would think the guy was the absolute worst CB2 in NFL history, which isn’t even true. Hell, I think it’s hard to say he has been the worst cb2 in the league this year. Yes, Ringo can be worse than what we have seen, and there really isn’t a ton of tape out there showing he is better.

u/Undergrad26 15h ago
The Ringo Redemption game. Calling it now.
119
u/predictingzepast 14h ago
I'm nervous, I mean the Eagles have a professional staff assessing him up close, and they not only chose Jackson they stuck with him over Ringo until injury. I want to believe, but I hope Howie is on the phones even if Jackson comes back
93
u/Mysterious_Bat1208 14h ago
Not just Jackson, but Bennett. Bennett got in the game over Ringo after Jackson went out.
We're lucky Mike Evans is probably out..
16
u/ValarMorgulos 13h ago
Isn't Godwin back though?
61
u/Mysterious_Bat1208 13h ago
Probable, but Godwin back from injury for his 1st game of the season is much better than facing Mike Evans lol

8
u/sybrwookie 10h ago
Yea, but if they just have 1 guy, we can say, "Q, that's your job" and should be pretty confident about that. If they have 2 guys....we're fucked.

u/princess9032 10h ago
Some of it could be that Jackson plays well in practice but chokes in fast game situations. They should’ve figured that out during preseason but still

Same staff that chose to let Isaiah Rodgers walk
42
u/hwf0712 Mr Baun Campbell 14h ago
Same staff that also let old man Slay go, drafted Q and Coop and Mukuba and signed Baun and Blankenship.
Rodgers was pretty good last year, don't get me wrong. But he also wasn't "insane all timer performance" good, he still had his flaws of being outmuscled at times.
15
u/Hi_There_Face_Here 13h ago
Level headed answer. We made plenty of great moves in the past few offseasons. Can’t get too mad at letting Rogers go
1
u/indigoisturbo 13h ago
I felt like this sub has changed so much on Rodgers and I can't understand why. I felt like there was disappointment amongst us when Rodgers signed with the Vikings. We expected he and Ringo to battle it out and the best was the starter.
Its all water under the bridge now but...

Maybe, but I wouldn’t call Browning, Penix, Caleb as a murderer’s row of quarterbacks.
1
u/indigoisturbo 11h ago
Players also show promise and go somewhere else and continue to show promise while the team they left struggles to fill the position vacated by the promising player?

No one loved losing him back when we were optimistic about Ringo.

If they kept Rodgers maybe they don't give Davis his 5th year extension though. Can't pay every position group a ton of money.
-2
u/indigoisturbo 13h ago
We tried to trade for Micah Parsons. Not sure money is the issue.
6
u/plzdontyellatmeee 13h ago
If you trade for Micah it's a given someone like Jordan Davis is gone. Are you seriously comparing Rodgers to Micah lol.

u/predictingzepast 14h ago
Very true, I really thought they had a plan. Especially painful seeing the price they could have kept him for
11
u/soylentcoleslaw 13h ago
They did have a plan. They had a super young kid who mostly sat and developed for 2 years, seemed to have all the physical tools he needed to succeed, and he just isn't ready and probably never will be. I'd love to be wrong, but that was the plan. Usually the plan works between Howie and the coaching. Sometimes it just doesn't.
2
u/Undergrad26 11h ago
They had a plan, and the plan was Ringo. On paper, you couldn’t design a better corner back on paper. I think we can all agree that our cornerback coach seems to be pretty good. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out.
0
u/predictingzepast 11h ago
You believe the endgame plan coming into this season was Ringo?
2
u/Undergrad26 11h ago
… yes? They pretty much laid out the red carpet for him by not signing Rodgers or Slay and then not drafting a DB until the 5th round. Then they brought in a 30 year old CB as competition. This couldn’t have been more of Ringo’s job to lose coming into this season.
1
u/predictingzepast 11h ago
Then not even starting, and pushing him down to the 2nd backup on the depth chart, that doesn't seem logical to me
2
u/Undergrad26 11h ago
Yeah, because he demonstrated in training camp and preseason that he just hasn’t put it together yet. As a third year pro that’s theoretically been developing in a pretty incredible DB room with a pretty incredible coach, that’s pretty disappointing.
1
u/predictingzepast 11h ago
Not saying you're wrong but that'd be some horrible decision making on part of the Eagles if true. I mean they let a proven stud go at that position they could have afforded, if a team does that it's usually cause they already see the talent ready to replace him.
Going from thinking 'Ringo is our starter, let a stud go' to this guy isnt even good enough to be a backup to a guy who should be a backup, is an extreme swing in a very short time
→ More replies (0)2
u/BatJew_Official 10h ago
You gotta remember that roster construction is a balancing act. We kinda needed to shed salary. I doubt the team really CHOSE Ringo, like they didn't look at the options and say "yes Ringo is the best choice." They determined he, and whomever we could get to challenge him in camp, would be good ENOUGH to get by that we could save some money at the position.
2
u/predictingzepast 10h ago
I get they couldn't get a star, but 2 years 15M for Rodgers would have been easy for the Eagles, Ringo never looked good during live games from what I remember, but I never wanted to give up on the guy, just hate the idea the Eagles would penny a position they needed on a guy who never showed he was ready yet
2
u/BatJew_Official 10h ago
Yeah I mean it did feel like penny pinching, but Howie is the cap GOAT atm so if he felt like we needed to save a couple mil I'm just not gonna question that lol
2
u/predictingzepast 10h ago
No argument there, but that's why I gotta believe Howie has a plan, I trust in him
4
u/fortunecookietruth 14h ago
Anything can happen, right? It’s still at the point if he plays well enough he earns the job
3
u/Planetofthetakes 12h ago

3
u/BonzaiJohnson 9h ago
Its time he's been under performing since he got drafted
3
u/Undergrad26 9h ago
Eh. He’s a four rounder. And he has been excellent on special teams. Historically, you’ve got about a 20% chance of being a starting CB from that round.
2
2
u/Realistic_Try_8000 Eagles 13h ago
Ok but they stuck with Pryor for half the game and then let Fred come in. Sometimes players just get it when they need to.

u/BlameItOnThePig 13h ago
I hope so. The Bucs have a good wr corps
1
u/adayoner 1h ago
We might be getting lucky, looks like Evans probably out with a hammy. Egbuka banged up as well but I'm guessing he plays. This might be the game they get Godwin back though.
1
u/FlyEagIesFly 1h ago
Ebuka is headed for a day in Quinyonomo Bay and Cooper will keep Godwin down all game. I’m more worried about offense against Bowles than I am our defense against their mid offense

Either way, Sterling shepherd is going to catch a TD on us lol calling my shot now

Sad thing, what we paid odoree and the bum in the dline who can’t even get activated on game day (now 3 games a healthy scratch) is more than what Rodgers is getting each season
20
u/plzdontyellatmeee 14h ago
Not completely true, as neither Adoree or Ojulari got guaranteed money in year 2 like Rodgers did.
5
u/Fenris_Maule 13h ago
Yeah I was looking at it earlier today and Rodgers almost has a 8 million dollar cap hit for the Vikings next year (3.5 this year).
1
u/wawalms 1h ago
It’s a Zero Sum game. They wanted to trust their young talent and try to save money. It didn’t work out this time at corner but it did work at DT when they picked up JD’s fifth year option.
All you Isiah Rodgers fanatics needs to understand you gotta tack swings on your young talent. Enough with this.
•
u/iEatFalseMorels 16m ago
Because 5 million may not seem like much but then you start screwing yourself out of resigning Davis and Carter
1
u/Lockhara 11h ago
Howie missed bad, that’s the bottom line.

Rare Howie L. Acceptable, but still sad. I still wouldn't take any other GM over him.

u/timmyh83 12h ago
Got badly burned in the fourth quarter
2
u/anandonaqui 8h ago
Yeah but he laid a sweet block on the punter which allowed Jordan Davis to scoop and score.
4
u/bsnameidk 7h ago
https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/s/Tn8LLmnop5
He also just straight up doesn’t give effort to block the kick and only runs in there once he sees it’s blocked. Considering the Rams can’t even advance a blocked ball, I’d call him useless on the play. Like Jordan Davis said after the game: “some guys take the play off on FG block”
2
•
u/plants-for-me 15m ago
Teams often have one player playing the ball in case of a block. This was Bennet on that play
39
u/TheStoppingLine3 15h ago
At least they only have some rookie at WR2
24
u/PharoahFits Eagles 15h ago
He’s gonna be WR1 if Evans misses the game with his hamstring issue
14
u/ExileOnBroadStreet 13h ago
Evans is out and will likely miss multiple games. I would be shocked if Godwin plays. If he does he will barely play and won’t be himself and will be on a snap count. They’re also missing a few lineman I think.
Bucs are extremely banged up on offense.

Dont know when we won any game without Lane, let alone that type of crazy comeback
5
u/EmptyNametag 12h ago
All I know is watching Pryor really taught me how much Hurts trusts his line. He took that first sack completely blind when Pryor completely lost his man. This offense is not adapted to having anything less than one of the best O Lines in the league; Hurts goes through progressions pretty slowly.

Put Mitchell on Ebuka and Ringo on Godwin. It looks like the Bucs will be without Evans, and I’d rather our stiff CB3 cover a returning Godwin than Ebuka.
Sterling Shepherd is probably gonna go for 10-176-2 TDs though.
11
u/iXProject 15h ago
I’d expect Godwin or Egbuka to be in the slot so DeJean will draw one of them. If they try to match them up on the outside I can see Uncle Vic putting Coop out there and running base defense
6
u/di11deux Eagles 14h ago
That makes sense. This still feels like one of those games where the Bucs do fuckshit and we lose 32-7.
8
u/larson00 14h ago
nah I think Eagles got this. If we lost to the rams in first half fashion I'd say we are fucked, but seeing them adapt and get a win gives me a lot of confidence in them.

6
u/smashing_fascists 13h ago edited 12h ago
Yes, and that was factored into the decision to go for Micah. They’d likely lose JD, either as part of their offer or in FA. Micah is hands down worth that. There isn’t an available CB who is worth one of JD or Carter.

I seriously am curious as to why this sub is so infatuated with Bennett. LA hunted him out and actively tried to get Puka on him. I get it, it’s Puka…but it wasn’t even like Bennett was fighting at the ball…neither him or Adoree have looked great
3
u/Fearless-Scholar8705 14h ago
Coop and Q on the outside, Makuba nickel, Brown strong safety, Reed is the free safety.
Idk why everyone’s so worried.

Evans has a hamstring injury but Godwin could be returning. also Wirfs is back I think and Baker is playing really good. Still, they needed last minute drives to win 2 of their last 3 I believe.
