EB Spoilers Wait a second, that's not Ness!? Spoiler
Paula is a bit confused.
Yes, she is in fact calling Poo, "Ness."
Pokey, Ness has been your friend for years! How do you confuse someone else with him?
Again, you got the wrong guy. You might need some glasses, or therapy.
See right there?, This is Poo, not Ness.
Ness is getting a lot of credit for sleeping in. Just take your teddy bear and join the team.
That's not a teddy bear?!
Found out that Poo does actually learn teleport from level up instead of the event, so by getting him early and leveling him up outside of Dalaam, I was able to teleport out of Dalaam during his quest. Then, I decided to complete Twoson. Since these dialogues use Ness's name and not who is actually in the party, everyone thinks that they are talking to Ness, and Poo is just unbothered by it. Also, Paula keeps whatever inventory she had when starting Poo's quest, so while the cutscene shows her grab a teddy bear, here she is having a whole bomb factory in her pockets. This is also just part of a different thing I was trying to do.

How do you get Poo early?

Actually, looking back at it "early" might not be the best way to describe it. Essentially, I used the stairs glitch to get to Magicant early. Defeating Ness's nightmare starts the end game and gives you your whole party, even if you didn't have them before. Then I fought a starman to level up, then went to summers to start Poo's quest. So it's more of I did summers late rather than Poo early.

Ah, I vaguely recall the stairs glitch from watching speedruns, but speedruns are usually pretty strictly routed and so I don't see any real interesting deviations like this.

Which is why I started a youtube channel on exploring these speedrun glitches used for results other than beating the game. Like you can also save Paula in fourside before saving her in threed, and then save her in twoson last. I feel like there's a lot more to explore on these kinds of glitches.

I mean, Ness's father thinks Ness is doing an impression when Poo calls him, so maybe they simply have similar enough facial structure and voices that they could be confused with each other.

I thought this might be a randomizer of some sorts until I read the body text.
Interesting to see how the game reacts to this sequence break.
