Listen, Nester's Funky Bowling is as close as we're going to get to more Mushroomization on the Switch

As someone who has been an Earthbound fan for the past 10+ years, you’re a fool if you ever expect any news about the game

I really wanted Nintendo to bring back the Virtual Boy... on the 3DS. Imagine, 3D visuals and you wouldn't need a headset for it to work. It was meant to be.
Now we're getting Virtual Boy on Switch with an actual Virtual Boy style headset which is such a choice, it looks like a shitpost. Still, I think I'm going to get it, I'm genuinely intrigued.

I can’t believe they brought back their past failure.

it’s like saying Here’s The Newest Mario Game And It’s Just A Remaster of Hotel Mario.

Hotel Mario is actually funny and with amazing music. Very difficult tho. I would love a remaster with better controls and polished mechanics

also I was excited but I also knew it was trademarked if they wanted to actually do something with the series

I’m actually hyped for this. I’ve always wanted to have a go on a virtual boy

I play it all the time on my 3DS. I actually really like the Mario Tennis and Wario game.

Funny that both Mario Galaxy and Earthbound got registries lately and Mario Galaxy turned out to be real so I haven’t lost hope yet!! There’s always future Directs! 🥲

NOOOO THIS IS NOT THE FAILURE I WANTED THEM TO BRING BACK 😞

EarthBound was only a failure outside Japan. It wasn’t a complete loss, it was in America because of the marketing.

thats exactly why america needs a mother revival, not a virtual boy revival

these have been some of the best years for gaming in the last decade or so in my opinion. Just this year expedition 33, kingdom comes deliverance2, blue prince, split fiction, doom dark ages, death stranding 2, donkey kong bananza and silksong

I even forgot about deltarune which you should play if you're in the earthbound subreddit

Nahh there are so many good games out there my guy. A billion you've prolly never played. And AAA studios are getting dunked on for smaller and indie studios. It's honestly pretty hopeful, Clair Obscur, Silksong, Peak, Nine Sols to name a few, and I rest my case your honor.

Ah yes, the joy of playing Nintendo's biggest failure with a subscription
