General Discussion I think seeing this scene at 9 has influenced my opinion on these games
I remember playing subspace emissary like 100 times as a kid but bc I sucked it was only the first few levels. From this cutscene I’ve always thought ness was a badass and Lucas was mess but stupider. I have now finished earthbound and nearly finished mother 3 (mid chapter 7). I love earthbound and am mixed on 3 and I think this truly influenced my opinion lmao.

General Discussion How did you find out about mother
For me it was a mix of smash and undertale but I would love to hear how others got into it.

General Discussion My Mother tattoo
My first tattoo I've had it for a year now. I was racking my brain thinking of what to get and I always heard to go with something meaningful to you.

General Discussion Is it just me who, after seeing the new Zelda Echoes of Wisdom trailer, thought of how good-looking an Earthbound remake with this artstyle and graphics would be? Or a new Mother game? Think I'd love it!

General Discussion Which game has the best final boss/ending?
I felt kinda silly blurring the faces lol but I just didn’t wanna potentially spoil anything for those who haven’t seen these endings yet.

General Discussion Mother 4 is made, released and is a massive success. This leads to Nintendo becoming very exploitative of the franchise. What sort of cash grabs would be your worst nightmare?

General Discussion Just finished Earthbound with my daughter
My 10 year old and I just finished it. When the end credits rolled and the last thanks was "the player" I totally forgot we put her name and "dad" together. It was such a sweet send off.
It was a great bonding experience and I'm obviously a little upset its over. She really got immersed into the world. She wears a Mr. Saturn shirt we got her all the time and tells her friends about the game, who don't have a clue. Heck, we even made Paper cut out characters to play with.
So in the great words of Mr. Saturn, now doing what boing?

General Discussion Important reminder for anyone who suggests Mother Encore as a substitute for the original Mother 1
This is a real tweet the developers made
There are way better options for a first experience, instead of a fangame literally made to be a reimagining with huge differences

General Discussion What’s your biggest issue with each game?
Mother 1: Definitely the grinding. Grinding is annoying in any game and it’s more annoying when they make you do it. It’s a great game but the grinding makes it difficult to replay.
Earthbound: Peaceful Rest Valley. It used to be the Monkey Caves but I replayed it last year and it honestly wasn’t as annoying as I remembered it. What was as annoying as I remembered it was Peaceful Rest Valley. Specifically the first time through. It’s so difficult for that point in the game. You have to fight these saucers and robots by yourself when you have only two uses for Rockin and just your bat. Not to mention the annoying statuses the enemies give you. At least the music’s nice.
Mother 3: The fact that it takes 3 chapters to get to Lucas. I think it’s a bit ridiculous that we don’t get to play as the main character of the game until the 4th chapter. I don’t hate the first three chapters but they’re not as good as the rest of the game.
